I have never tried to go to a flash heavy website from any mobile phone. I have a feeling it might be a bigger issue on the iPad, with its larger screen.
Being an American based sight, Slashdot is now required to remove the names of any automobile manufacturer that is not General Motors, in an attempt to help GM finish paying off their debt to us. You will find that you can't type , , , or either.
Except that I never heard anyone say otherwise, Apple Fanboy or not. I heard some say they didn't care about it, and that it wasn't a deal breaker, but I never heard anyone say that multitasking was not a good thing. There are plenty of things to hate, in or out of Apple, without making shit up.
Sure, I just felt nitpicky today.
However, this one is not a nit, you're arguing about laws saying what retailers can/can't sell, but the laws you mention apply to manufacturers. I'm not sure, beyond health and safety laws, that we do have any laws about what a retailer must or must not carry. I'm also not sure that retail is the appropriate comparison for the app store. Not saying it isn't, just not certain that it is.
A Mac user asked, seriously as far as I can tell, if his Mac's preview software is as vulnerable as Acrobat, and you accuse him of smugness. Why do the Mac haters have to automatically make assumptions about Mac users? This guy actually came about it without smugness, and yet you belittle him for it.
You are infinitely more the elitist than the most hardcore of Mac fanboys, and you don't even realize it.
The main problem with Windows Mobile has always been that MS tried to shoehorn every feature they could think of into it. What they wound up with was an OS that could do almost anything you could want from the phone factor, but did almost nothing well. This is why devices like the Blackberry have always done so well, because sometimes a specialized device is just better for its intended purpose. The iPad is such a specialized device. I am not convinced yet that it is better for its purpose than a netbook, but I suspect that for a certain large audiance it will be.
If you need someone to give one of those 5 ipads to, let me know. I'm not quite impressed enough by them to spend money on, but I do like them.
I am hoping to see a more capable device for version 2, maybe something that with I/O devices and the ability to run OSX apps.
repeat after me: Mozilla is not Apple. The issue here is that Mozilla has chosen to drop Apple support, not Apple. Mozilla is free to do so. Apple is still supporting 10.4.
Part of the problem is that 10.5 brought a lot of under the hood improvements, but not much that could be seen by the end user. Until developers begin to phase out 10.4 support, those older machines running 10.4 will, for the most part, continue to run 10.4 because 10.5 didn't bring enough noticeable enhancement to justify the time and expense involved in upgrading the OS.
Right. Nobody typed the exact equation "marketing=lying". But that's exactly what was implied.
Not really, by the original poster at least. What was "implied" by the quotation marks around "marketing" is that the practice described is not marketing.
Later posters straight out said that marketing is lying and fraud. so no, no one really implied that marketing is the equivalent of lying.
. Most of my other jobs required that I have a Bachelor's Degree to get them, but nothing I learned in college was related to the job in any way.
As someone who never quite got the piece of paper (my own fault, too many kids at too young an age) I have often found this to be a truly obnoxious form of elitism. To see someone take a job I am better qualified for because they made 6 more months of college, can be a truly painful experience.
Oh well. I'm not dead yet, and when the kids are grown I won't be too old to finish.
But, hey, who am I to argue with a placebo effect that works for you?
A solid point. My morning coffee hasn't been anywhere near as useful since my wife told me that... no never mind. I don't want to ruin it for everyone else too.
In most states in the US they already can read your emails and listen to your phone calls. A tshirt and a chip are also two hugely different propositions. I don't think I would have a problem with a uniform. In other places of employment, I have chosen to where uniforms, at my own expense via rental service, because it was cheaper than constantly replacing my own clothes I kept ruining. Individuality in a help desk technician is not something to be sought after. Ability to conform to a common set of rules is.
Um, ODB was standard before 95. ODBII came out in 95. Earlier codes (ODB1) could be viewed with a paper clip and the check engine light, no computer needed.
If you change enough hardware, Windows has been known to see a whole new computer and lock you out. This requires a call to MS customer service, who are usually willing to give you a new code.
It's like mailing someone something and then saying "if you don't mail this back within 30 days, you must pay $500". It's illegal and this should be illegal for the same reasons.
Um.. No, it's nothing like that. Apple doesn't send you unsolicited bill's, you need to go out of your way to obtain a copy of OS X. They don't mail it to you unsolicited and demand payment. You pay first, with an assumption that you already have a fair idea what that license is going to say.

Yeah because running around posting about how much you hate a company is soOOOoo much cooler than being a fanboy. Bet you're fun on a date!
How would anyone ever find out?

(btw, PARENTS have regular contact with children. Do you need a license for that too?)
I've often felt you should...
At least with them we wouldn't have had any hope to begin with...

They repealed (at least US, I'm assuming here) the flame retardent pajama law several years ago.
That is one hell of a reading to get all this from a synopsis. Suggestion: read the whole thing. Seriously.

No one called it winning, just not getting defeated.
Ipod and iPhone are limited. Mac desktops/laptops/servers have never been. The question is which camp this device will fall into.

No, and thanks for rubbing it in, you bastard
