I'm sure Amazon, Inc will just make a deal with the Brazilian Cartels to make a black market amazon.com for them to sell their wares on. And then the govt. or Brazil will quietly let this drop.
From my understanding, this was the business plan all along. Let's build really expensive bad ass sports cars that are all electric. Once they made enough money on those, they could start adapting the technology to be cheaper and cheaper. All the while still selling an expensive bad ass sports car for the same price.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Seems pretty clear to me that this means I can put a religious symbol anywhere I want. Whether its a nativity, an upside down cross, a statue of Buddha, or the that Six Armed Hindu one. We just have to have equal rights for all.
They are not asking for equal rights in the case I stated, they are asking for the first amendment to be suspended for Christians. In the specific case I am referencing, they were given the opportunity to place their own display on the courthouse lawn, but they didn't want to do that.
Therefore a right was suspended for the Christian, this equates to more rights for the atheists.
You are correct, but in this case it shows one group has more rights than another. It was then first illustration that popped into my mind.
Another is that a man has no right to a child until after it is born. The mother does not have to inform the father that she is going to have an abortion. One more place where the right of the male is less than the right of a female. And a male cannot force a woman to have an abortion even if he is the one who has to pay for it for the next 18 years.
Does it? Why can a teacher not take a group of students to see A Charlie Brown Christmas at a church, but can take those same students to see a lecture on evolution at the science museum?
If a Christian parent wants to argue that they are told to keep their student home for the day, but when an Atheist gets mad about it, all the students are told they cant go.
Thus equates to different rights for different groups. I'm not saying that either group is wrong or right, just that different rules apply.
I guess I consider all the Amendments to the Constitution as the Bill of Rights. I know that's not correct as it applies to what we agree taught.
I single out Atheists, because they seem to be the most vocal in my local community when it comes to what Christians can and can't do on public land. In don't see the Muslims threatening law suits when someone wants to put a Nativity on the court house lawn.
Atheist males have more rights than Christian males. It's called the Separation of Church and State (which is not Constitutional, or even in the Bill of Rights, whether it's right or wrong, I won't debate today).
I can very easily keep track of what my children see on the internet. We have one computer, and it's in the living room where we all sit.
We also have the policy that my children have no right to privacy when it comes to their electronic devices. Sure they could watch porn on their iDevices, but only once before I catch them and punish them.
But banning porn in a "think of the children" is just a stupid idea.
You'd have less rights. You'd have more rights, if you weren't a WASP Male, Women, Racial Minorities, Religious Minorities all have more rights than than the Male WASP (where the P in wasp stands for either Protestant or Catholic.) at least in the US.
The part where it gets tricky is where you when you start mixing the above groups. For instance, a Female WASP has more rights, unless she wants to fight against gun control, then she's a right wing nut job. (AKA Sarah Palin).
It saddens me that I when I read Fahrenheit 451, it seemed very prophetic given the way that "rights" are being eroded in the US.
Whenever I have a problem, I google it, and StackOverflow is always in the top of the results. If Microsoft want me to use their documentation they better make sure google indexes it in a way than matches my queries.
..and when they do that, better make fucking sure they're not doing an annual switching around of documentation site urls during that time, landing you on a wild goose chase - only to find documentation that is vague about the answer for political reason or documentation that is just a brochure of the sdk with promises about what the sdk does but not actually telling how, why and what actually works.
AND I DON'T FUCKING WANT TO ANSWER A QUESTIONNAIRE ON MY FIRST FUCKING VISIT ON YOUR FUCKING DEVELOPER SITE. how the fuck am I supposed to know if I found what I came looking for?? (Nokia used to run these quizzes every 6 months. fucking annoying - especially when it was an indication of that they were putting a lot of money into their dev stuff but not getting much out of it). and I most definitely don't want a fucking pdf essay 10 pages in length that _might_ have the answer(but more probably has just lies about what they thought the api would behave like).
but yeah, stack overflow comes up so often on "how to do blabla on blebleble" things that it's where devs quite often end up. and why shouldn't they, if the answer is right there or a link to an answer. oftentimes it's more current than actual docs anyways.
a rather important aspect of this whole "getting information from" is that most devs are not asking questions and receiving answers - they're reading other peoples questions and answers to them because it's quite rare to have a really unique installation problem, a rare api bug that nobody else hit or a rare question about how to get some layout engine xyz to behave in ysz way. so it's not about being lazy, it's about finding information and saving time, not getting other people to do the work for them.
Why reinvent the wheel? That was always my thought.
I thought Stackoverflow was the official documentation?
In all seriousness, when I have a choice between two links, and one is the documentation and the other is SO. I choose SO first. Then check the documentation for the nitty gritty details.
They may not do what you want, but at least you can let them know why they are being fired at the end of their term. I contact mine every few weeks on big issues, like the sequester.
I don't think he said what you think he did. I think the OP was referring to brown people as the continuing wars in the Middle East. I think almost everyone in the US can agree that these wars are asinine now.
This is why I contacted my reps about the sequester. They want to cut even more working people from being able to pay their bills, but the cuts don't affect low income programs (like food stamps). While I agree that the cuts shouldn't affect social security, if you're going to take away from people who do "actual" work for a living (I'm sure a percentage of fed employees don't do much). How can they expect a working person to take a 20% pay cut, especially in this economy?
The rest of the sequester I can take or leave, but don't cut the salaries of people who are actually working. Can you imagine the uproar if Wal-Mart said they were going to cut 20% of their workforce?
The subsidized phone model doesn't work without the locked phone model.
That's what the early termination fees are for. Either get rid of the term fees and keep the phone locked, or keep the early term fees, and unlock the phone. That's why I have a problem with this.
Right now if I cancel my contract, I can't use my phone with another carrier, and I still have to pay the early termination fees.
Please explain which parts are flamebait? I do not propose a solution, only state a fact. We know that poor people commit more crimes, some to survive and some to make themselves feel better about themselves (empowered.) That's not an indictment of poor people, it's an indictment of a system that creates poor people.
Now, if I declared that I had a solution and that it was the only solution, that would be flamebait. It would also almost certainly be bullshit.
At first glance I took offense at "As long as we embrace a culture that continues to increase disparity of wealth". After I reread it, though, I realized that you bring up good points.
you can always count on the vast wealth disparity and a societies that makes it impossible for criminals to reform to generate new robberies.
That's the part I disagree with. I like to think that it's not my fault that some guy is out robbing. I like to believe that it's his fault he turned to a life of crime.
I do agree that as a society we make it very hard for convicted criminals to reform. I had an employee that was a convicted of making meth. Did he do bad things, yes, did he pay his time for his crimes, yes. Should it haunt him forever, no.
Everyone is making broad generalizations. I know that's what happens on Slashdot. Will I buy a next gen console, yes I will, will it be because I'm addicted, no. Will it be because I enjoy playing video games, yes. I'm sure lots of gamers are addicted, but I'm also sure there are lots of gamers that just enjoy playing a few times a week (like me). Will I be mad if I can't buy used games. Probably, but I don't really trade in games to buy other games. I buy games to play them. And when I'm done, they sit on a shelf, until I'm ready to play it again. Not everything has to be about freedom. Some things can be about fun, we're not all Richard Stallman. Thank God.
I'm sure Amazon, Inc will just make a deal with the Brazilian Cartels to make a black market amazon.com for them to sell their wares on. And then the govt. or Brazil will quietly let this drop.

Its seems the Model S is part two of this plan.
Seemed genius to me.

Wish I hadn't commented so I could mod this up. That's spot on.

True freedom of speech.
There are things I can't say, that minorities can say.
If I was caught sacrificing animals to a god, I would be arrested. There have been cases where certain minorities could.
If I was a teacher, I couldn't take a group of school children to a Catholic church, but I bet I could take them to a Mosque.
I'm sure if I thought real hard, I could come up with more examples.
Note: I didn't say that some of these don't make sense, just that they are rights I can't get away with, while others can.
Atheist males have more rights than Christian males. It's called the Separation of Church and State (which is not Constitutional, or even in the Bill of Rights, whether it's right or wrong, I won't debate today).

Contact your reps in both the House and the Senate. If everybody on Slashdot had done this earlier in the week, we might be looking at a very different situation today. Here's the links.

You're obviously not from the deep southern United States.
Mass is at least college level, maybe graduate level.

Better porn.
Which is of course the answer to any question about when will the web have X? When the porn industry wants to make more money.
