Excuse me, did I say anything about being part of the occupy movement or expecting the government to give me money? If you actually read my post for a minute, you might see that I took a loan and paid it back. I made every payment on time, thank you.

In fact, I'm with you on getting rid of welfare programs. I'm frankly sick and tired of my tax money going to people who frankly don't deserve it.

Perhaps if your parents weren't hopped up on pain killers and alcohol around the time of your conception you'd be able to comprehend that

Oh my! Me, not living within my means?! I said that I owned a home without having a degree. Do you know what that means? I sure as hell do live within my means to make that possible. Boo hoo about your housing market falling apart, and boo hoo that I was able to profit from it. There is no way in hell I'm going to throw my money away on rent if I don't have to.

Again, you come off as a spoiled jackass with an entitlement complex. You just go on thinking that there's some big government conspiracy that's enabling me to own a house. I still want to know where I sign up for these handouts I'm supposed to have. Maybe I'd at least get my damned money I earned myself back from the government that way.

My mom owns the house, but I pay for the utilities.

Ah, I'm glad you at least managed to answer my question. Wish I had that deal, but nobody said life had to be fair.

I've yet to meet a female who can even comprehend the basic features of a word processor such as tabstops or using 1st and 2nd level headings to organize the typo-ridden, disjointed, grammar catastrophe their vaginas vomit up on to a page.

Women don't /want/ to be equal. What they want is to be able to have a baby whenever they choose, and it doesn't matter what guy donates the genetic material necessary, just so long as they can make him look like a creep and a rapist so the child support checks will just flow in. Then they call this "good, christian family values."

Women know they can get most guys to just cave in to their every whim, and that's all that happened between Lovelace and Babbage. She probably gave him a good load of bullshit, just enough to trick him into thinking that she actually understood anything she was taking about. Of course, it was probably to Babbage's advantage anyway to make it look like a female could understand anything not related to motherhood.

Females can get equal pay when they're able to perform equal work. This myth about the first programmer being a woman is just yet another cudgel that females use to try to guilt trip men into giving them more and more handouts.

Well, ladies, you can bitch about it all you want, but they pay me because I make computers do things. You females, apparently, cannot, and that's why you don't get the job. You can call sexism and other hysterics all you want, but at the end of the day, the computer either goes or it doesn't, and you can either go through hundreds of items by hand to create the report the client wants or you can realize that a computer can do it in a matter of seconds. Even if you can't comprehend how the computer produces the answer for me and not for you, you females have to admit that at the end of the day, an employer would rather pay me 133% of your wages because you're only 75% as productive as me.

More men are starting to realize that, and we're getting tired of listening to your bullshit. The computer doesn't care what body parts its operator has no matter how loudly you want to bitch and moan that the gender of the person sitting in front of the computer is what's making it either work or not.

As someone who was born with a gender problem, I hope the DSM loses all credibility when the next edition comes out. Sorry for the rant, but you've made a very good point I'd like to expand upon and get a few things out of my system.

Basically, from what I understand, they're seriously considering listing "electroshock" as a treatment for the gender problem I have. I've looked into electroshock, and it's an interesting approach, kind of like using a stick of dynamite to remove a housefly. Apparently it can be therapeutic for certain kinds of depression, and it can also cause amnesia. Sometimes I think having amnesia would be nice. I'd wake up thinking I'm a normal woman and forget about the time I was forced by people who knew what was best for me to parade myself around as a guy.

One thing it does not do, however, is change the brain's sex from female to male or whatever they think it accomplishes in the treatment of a gender mismatch between brain and genitals. If they ever do figure out a way to do that, maybe I'll consider becoming a man, but electroshock does not do that, no matter what kind of wishful thinking and cargo cult science they employ. Being a man has some advantages, but it's simply not what I am, and wishful thinking or sky wizards or whatever else simply aren't going to change that.

Basically, the DSM V is going to be a joke. I hope it'll be a ha-ha joke. I'm afraid it might be a cruel joke.

At any rate, what can I do about it? I'm already diagnosable with a mental illness according to the DSM IV. Apparently, having a female brain is a kind of mental illness. Being attracted to men is a mental illness. Why not just lock up anyone with a vagina, since most of them are attracted to men, have breasts (and I hear some of them even enjoy being fondled), masturbate while wearing panties, and dress up in women's clothes? A shocking revelation, I'm sure.

For that matter, what can you do about it? I think that's your core point, and something I wish more people would understand. You'll be diagnosed under the DSM V. Once you've become "mentally ill" anything you self-report goes out the window, because you need "help." Any disagreements, objections, or concerns you might have about your treatment are signs of a lack of progress. Because they know what's best for you. All you need to do is obediently submit to their every command.

Well, maybe the BDSM reference is a bit over the top, but from my perspective, being forced to have testosterone in my body and being forced to have a body with male body parts while dressing up in clothes that no real woman ever wears just for the hope that I might get meds that I need is pretty close to BDSM. And I don't like BDSM. Yeah, maybe my body produces testosterone without medical intervention, but other people's bodies also do things that aren't optimal without medical intervention. I'm not hearing any suggestions that insulin should be withheld from someone with type 2 diabetes unless they jump through hoops and barrels and commit to losing weight. Some people can control their diabetes without medication, just like some people can appear to be attractive members of the "opposite" sex without medication. That doesn't mean it's the best way or the right way for everyone.

Psychology is simply a witch hunt couched in technical-sounding language, and people need to wake up and realize that. Psychology is not a science, and it never will be. At best, it can tell you that what you really want deep down inside is to have sex with your mother. At worst, it destroys families and lives.
