My 2 year degree cost me about ( granted this was in 1986-1988 ) 360 per semester for 4 semesters = 1440 for 2 years. My 4 year degree was about twice that so I paid a total of 4320 for my 4 year degree ). And yes.. the degree meant quite a lot when starting out. It gave me a 43 % increase in salary at one job ( going from an engineering aide to a full engineer ). And I too am making around 6 figures a year ( with bonuses ).
Yes.. but a drug is a PHYSICAL product. I think that is the other part of the problem. We have too many patents on concepts or ideas. That's the slippery slope we have to fix.

The problem is that if it isn't patented already, then they can patent it. Screw any "prior art" that isn't in the patent database. That is the ONLY source of data that they use.

You must be lucky. I get slammed by long distance companies once every two years or so... even when I make NO long distance calls. Hell, I don't make ANY calls on my land line; the only reason I keep it is for DSL. But I'm still required to pay $30 a month for local service, and $15 a month for long distance. That's making and receiving NO calls mind you. Which is why I eventually gave DSL and got rid of the land line.

How do they get around this limit ? They increase the evaluation of the home so that instead of earning 2500 on a 100,000 house, they re-evaluate the house to 125, 000 and increase their revenue to 3125 without anything new. They get an instant 25 % increase in tax base.
And ? They are still shilling for the RIAA. What someone should do is do a JA type presentation explaining the evil that is the RIAA ( Signing away all rights to the product they created, the lobbying to make all music work for hire thus eliminating the need for the artist to sign away their rights, the fact thte artists have to pay for the studio costs, etc. ).

The product Jreports violates the GPL. They sell a package using Gnu JSP yet no where in their documentation or on their site do they even mention this fact. I notified the FSF and nothing happened with it.

Except the cretons^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hpolititians in office have decided that creating beaurocracy and voting themselves pay raises is a better use of our monies rather than letting us decide what to do.
Force anyone using a standard DSL or dialup (read this as a NON business account) to use the ISP that you are connecting to's mail server by blocking all accesses to port 25 except for their mail server ( This is trivial for them to do at their routers - drop all TCP/UDP connections to port 25 except for their server).
Wouldn't this effectivly kill most spammers ? They could also do stuff like, limit people to no more than say 50 emails/hour ( how many people will actually hit that limit ). If they have people riding the limits, that should send up some sort of red flag to check what the person is mailing out ( from the sendmail/qmail/etc. logs ).
