I don't even miss PSN. Haven't logged in for MONTHS after I jailbroke it, so thankfully I wasn't affected by the initial hacking.
I don't even use XBox Live so it's not a fanboy thing. The only reason I even still have a XBL account is because I got charged for a year back in Nov 09, and I use it for Netflix.
I used ICQ back in 97 or 98 as my first IM proggie. It was pretty neat, and I remember the "uh oh!" sound when getting a message - before it got old and I turned it off.
I also remember the 'A Current Affair' sound effect when someone asked to be your friend, or whatever. I still even remember my old ICQ number, lol.
I eventually moved to AIM because it was what 'everyone' used. And by 'everyone' I just mean the average computer user/porn surfer. I discovered IRC in probably 2000 because of DALNet, and all of the Dragon Ball Z episodes you could download from there in "HIGH QUALITY!!!!" lol.
Trigger got a re-release on the DS or Advance, I believe and it had a small bit of extry content to make it meld better with the terrible Chrono Cross, but it was just a re-release much like the PSX version. I'd like to see a true current-gen graphics version. There was actually an amateur remake out there but it was killed off by Square pretty quick. I'm pretty sure there are still some screenies of it out on the Intertubes.
VII isn't even that great. I 'enjoyed' it when I played it back in 97 but it wasn't mind-blowing like III/VI was. I think the SNES Final Fantasy III/VI was their crowning achievement for the series.
If a Final Fantasy game MUST be remade, I say do a word-for-word, scene-for-scene remake of Final Fantasy III/VI or, even better - Chrono Trigger. That was another amazing game. I've played through Trigger at least 10 times and I probably haven't even gotten all the endings. I'd also love a true sequel to Chrono Trigger, seeing as how Chrono Cross was just... awful.
+1
I'm not much of an online gamer so I don't miss PSN at_all. I have XBL Gold, but only for Netflix, and whenever the XBL Gold comes to re-up, I won't, since about 60 other devices I own can do Netflix.
I think I played Halo 3/Reach online for maybe a couple of weeks but after that, nothin'.
That's because current anime *is* crap. Adventures in Japanese Animation was probably 1993 or 1995? I can't remember, unfortunatley. Back then Anime was actually about robots (Robotech), or stuff like Akira (1988). The current pokemon/cardcaptor/bleach/trigun era of Anime is total garbage.
Watch stuff by Studio Ghibli. That's Anime. Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Nausicaa (an "OG" anime) and the like. There's also stuff like Akira, BubbleGum Crisis (not 2040), AD Police, Gunbuster, Dangaio, etc.
Remember when Sci-Fi used to have that "Adventures in Japanese Animation" block on Sunday nights (IIRC)? It's where I first heard of Lensman, Vampire Hunter D (the first one, not the terrible sequel) and several others.
I was really bummed when Sci-Fi changed its name to siffee, and irritated when it started showing burley men hugging eachother into submission. I liked the TinMan remake as well, and I was really into SG:U until I heard it was canceled, and I haven't watched an episode since it went on hiatus. Now that I know it ended, I'll torrent the episodes and watch it then. Also pretty miffed about Caprica. Alessandra Torresani was soooo hot to me, especially in that little dress she always wore that showed off her legs.
Damn.
ANYWAY - maybe it's time for another channel to step up to the plate and rename themselves "Sci-Fi" and start showing Sci-Fi! I never got to see all of Farscape, and apparently it's still waiting for its conclusion, so how about it? Any rich/.ers up for starting a new premium channel called Sci-Fi? I don't have any capital to start it but I'll be a seat polisher or a janitor or something.
Lets talk to Joss - maybe he'll be down! We'll make him president of the Universe!
I'm not being facetious here but I see all of these comments about using the 360 as a Netflix streaming device and nearly all of them are complaining about fan noise.
Am I the only one with an Xbox360 Elite that has competent fans that don't sound like 'jets taking off?'
Granted, I'm on 360 #4, so I'm not saying the 360 is a magnificient piece of hardware by any means, but when I use it to watch Netflix (my HTPC is having a stuttering problem with Netflix, cant figure it out. Might need more RAM) it makes little to no noise what-so-ever.
People still use Gamefly? I thought they'd have gone out of business by now because of member hemmoraging, considering they NEVER have anything in stock.
I jumped ship a couple of years ago after I couldn't get ANYTHING to show up on time. Sure I understand a new game will have a wait time, but I'd have about 20 games in my queue, and out of those 20, I'd get NUMBER 20 on the list. You'd think they could just go to walmart and get a few more copies or something but no, that would make too much sense.
I wouldn't want to burn a 1:1 copy of a Bludisc. Those things are massive and massively expensive.
I'd rather do what I do now, run the games off of the internal HDD.
I assume by PMS you mean PS3 Media Server? I'm using TVersity right now and I effin' HATE it. DLNA errors irritate the hell out of me and TVersity's messageboards do nothing to help.
I might have to check that out.
Part of it might be jealousy, sure. But honestly the people that are contacting congress because they can't get to yahoo mail are pretty freakin' stupid. Someone mentioned getting satellite and putting it on the ground.
Problem solved.
Someone else mentioned using mobile broadband. There's a commercial out there. If they live in some super-rich area where the houses are 300 years old and are worth millions, I'm pretty sure they can afford $100 a month for Verizon broadband access.
Problem solved.
Contacting congress because you can't get your internet pr0n?
Lame.
lol, the N64? Horrible system. Terrible controller, poor game library. It had 3 good games. THREE. Mario64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask. That does not a good system make. Who cares about a programmer's viewpoint? Programming for the 64 is over, so the point is moot. We're talking game consoles in general, and that's why the best game system is the SNES, hands down. After the SNES, probably the Neo Geo.

Someone's pissed they aren't American.

Good times.

"The Red Ball" because it can predict murders.
Thanks, but that doesn't tell me what it is, it just brings up news links to it being released - which I'm aware of because I read this post.

I totally prefer a single player campaign.
What is the Zeus Crimeware Kit? I'm assuming it's something to help write viruses? I really don't know.
seriously, I dont know what it is.
:) I can't even count how many times I built the Yamato out of legos as a kid, lol.

THAT is anime.
Ive heard some good things about the US version of BH. I watched a few episodes of the original before and I wasn't into it.
How is the American version better?
BTW I'm not challenging that, I'm genuinely asking.

Objective? More like moot.

(and probably of all time if adjusted for inflation) The SNK Neo Geo was the most expensive if you take it's software library into consideration.
Ouch! I'm insulted because you said the video quality of a video someone else made was horrible. OUCH! Hardcore burn! PWNAGE!!! Idiot.
Pot. Kettle.
If you seriously can't follow the 3 steps in the vid, you probably shouldn't be deriding someone that was able to. Thanks for playing.
