Yeah, when you say it like that, it actually sounds retarded. I may have known RDBMs for too long but a row is a more logical term for the tuple of data, and column the logical one for naming attributes. Unless of course your tables are sideways... But who does that? Not even arabs or Japanese are that crazy.
They are usually solved by random humans that browse the net but have a toolbar or trojan installed that adds a captcha now and then to the pages (captchas which are taken from requests from decaptcher's customers).
Oh come on... That's a harmless fun discussion that hurts no-one. If anything, I think it's a good thing, it makes people more close to each other and more likely to want to continue the contributions. Did you never joke around at work? Or are you one of those robots that go in, work for 8hours straight and leave without any socializing?
Thank you, finally someone who actually thinks and has a real opinion and doesn't just follow the slashdot trend of bashing the government for whatever it is doing even if it's actually doing something good.
Hehe, the next paper in the series will probably be "lungs have the perfect construction for retaining enough oxygen that we can go about our daily lives but not too much such that our cells will burn out".
Government document or not it's recognizable by everyone as valuable from thieves to priests to politicians to scientists, etc. A VISA is only good to a certain amount of people and with it it's a lot easier to track your actions.
Yeah, and India has it going very good. Their government can really impose the laws in every part of the nation without being overruled by local traditions and social hierarchies.
Oh shut up, those units are very good. When I read the summary I actually imagined the size of the satellite and the thinness of the sail. Bread and hair are ubiquitous items and they're much more useful in comparisons than measurement units (especially since this is an international site visited by people with different standards).
Uhm, the lens' job is to project the image on the CCD. Now, the quality of the lens, type of material, shape, precision of cut, etc., all count: the projection has to follow the shape of the CCD as close as possible, there are many things that can make the image distorted.
But the most important factor that many people don't know about is simply the size of the lens. A 2cm diameter lens can't be used for more than 5MP or somewhere close to that. Putting more pixels in the CCD will only make it look worse and worse. This cannot be avoided in any way, it's actually physically impossible, because of the way the rays of light get refracted.
Well yeah, but if you take the example you gave... look at where FM is right now: full of rules and copyright laws. You can't just setup a radio transmitter and start giving any music you want to your listeners. So IMHO they kinda won that battle.
Yep, I'm thinking of starting to use just to spite them, even though I've never used it before (maybe I installed a couple of times to test it, dunno).
It was probably not ppp, but a rather unfortunate password whose md5 is the same as for "ppp". I can't believe they'd actually put in a password like that.
Atoms don't really exist for the "creator" either. They're a construct that we made up (without knowing at the time) to be able to do some calculations involving matter at a low level.

I would have modded you up if there was a +1 "nice and enthusiastic guy" :D
Not only that but they're the same doubles in his UID!
It's not too late, it just has more momentum that will take longer to reverse and let the government transform the internet in whatever they want.
I closed it in 10seconds when I realized it's not a bullet list of the form
o <date>: "real event" would have been "something else"
There should be modding for -1 Scary. Your post gave me a frightnening sensation, I couldn't even let myself have a mental image of it.

He probably meant CTRL+C which usually interrupts the currently running command in a terminal or CTRL+Z which sends EOF.

Or... "The browsers wars continues"

Yeah but with a cool name...
Holy shit... that's the best way to show just how sheep-like people are. Fuck, I didn't think it was that bad.

Don't worry, you'll see all that being "tested" in the next war they buy.
someone invented wheat and water? i agree with the rest of your post but not that :P
