Yes, she is running for political office, but a campaign is not a public entity. The campaign is a private entity. There are certain public laws that interact with the campaign above other private entities (disclosure, campaign finance, etc). The website is the property of the campaign and consequently copyright can be applied in this situation. In fact, the campaign could very well levy a copyright cease and desist for posting current versions of the campaign's website.
It may seem shady and dubious, but it is pretty legitimate. Plus, I doubt the lawyers would put in the cease and desist letters if there wasn't a valid copyright claim behind it.
So rather than bitching about how copyright is being used, use it as an another example of how copyright is broken.
They also said regulators failed to tell Obama that all active deepwater rigs passed an immediate re-inspection after the Deepwater Horizon exploded and sank, with only two rigs reporting minor violations and the rest getting approval to continue operations.
Congress doesn't have a bad habit of borrowing. The law mandates that all surplus revenues from Social Security get dumped into the general fund.
Also, the budget was not balanced. If it were balanced and we had a surplus like what was claimed, then national debt would not have risen during the Clinton years like it did.
- Social Security (upside down - more checks sent out than cash coming in) Laughable. Social security is fine, stop buying into to the republican crap. read the papers written by the people that actually study it for a living. Yes, it occasionally needs modification, no it's not going to 'bankrupt' us. and it has in no way made anything worse.
- Medicare (ditto)
1. By design, Social Security requires an unsustainable population growth. When it was enacted, it was sold on the idea that one Social Security pensioner would be supported by sixteen working adults. That means that for every Social Security pensioner there must be a combination of sixteen first generation immigrants or births. Thankfully we're down to three working adults for one pensioner so it at least we don't need a ludicrous immigration or birthrate to support the program.
2. By law, any surplus revenues to the Social Security trust fund are to be placed in the general fund to be used for allocation by Congress. The Social Security trust fund is actually just a book keeping organization in order to be able to appropriately track how much an individual needs to be paid. The CBO found that income tax rates would need to be adjusted from 10/25/35% to 25/66/92% along with a corporate income tax rate increase from 35% to 92%. It is laughable to think that most corporations would stick around for that. They would move to a lower corporate tax rate country quite possibly causing a number of the middle to high tax bracket jobs to leave the country as well. How do you plan to fund the program in that situation?
This isn't Republican crap. It is common sense that the system is broken and unsustainable.
A voting machine provides a clear interface so the voter knows precisely his vote. He can go forward or back until final submission. At that point a printout is made that is very clear on the voters intents. You won't have any hanging chads or any impartially filled circles that will allow people to throw your vote out as unclear.
Yes, and anyone who read the Federalist Papers would also understand that the general welfare clause was not in itself a grant of power to the federal government, but rather discussing why the federal government was granted the powers it was given.
Likewise, many writings by the Founders, as well as definitions of the time, suggest that the commerce clause would not apply the manufacture of goods, but rather the exchange or transport of goods.
That said, I think Obama has bigger fish to fry (yes, bigger than another trip to the moon). For one thing, I'd like some form of profitable employment and so would thirty percent of other voting age Americans who are unemployed or working part time at Wal Mart (or whatever the number is this week).
Extending jobless benefits doesn't really help that out. In fact, it harms that goal.
The majority of people on jobless benefits probably aren't keeping up their skills. This is going to constantly put them on a lesser footing with peers that are swapping jobs or anyone who just lost their job. Further, most people on jobless benefits really only search for jobs right when they've lost theirs and just prior to losing the benefits.
Extending jobless benefits isn't compassion, it's a willful destruction of the individual.
However a LOT of shows perform much better in DVD sales than they do while aired and that's simply a fact of the method by which you watch it. Some shows just do better when you can watch multiple episodes at once rather than waiting a week between. Firefly is no exception to this.
I disagree. I do not blame Fox for the early demise of Firefly. I blame Joss or whoever decided to pitch it to one of the big networks. The show would have failed on ABC, NBC, FOX, etc. While the geek crowd rants and raves about it, it lacked the ability to interest the population at large for any length of time. Had Firefly started on a pay-to-view channel or Sci-Fi it would have ran much longer.
Remember, there were at least two Apache helicopters and all you have is the video feed from 1 gun camera. You don't have know what that Apache's gunner or pilot saw or what the second Apache could see. This is really what blows my mind about it. There's definitely another PoV that should be viewed in order to fully understand the situation.
It's pretty thin but pretty much by presenting an abridged version you are showing the facts you want people to see. It is not unjustified to assume that most people would watch the 15m assume that it is the important and relevant bits rather than watch the full 40m video.
How can you possibly make a sequel to Independence Day? They defeated the aliens.
Independence Day 2 - The aliens are back with a vengeance! Independence Day 3 - After hijacking a mothership using an iPad nano, Will Smith and Jeff Goldbloom take the fight to the alien homeworld!
Also, were the aliens migratory, as in the moved from planet to planet like a swarm of locusts?
Risking being labeled a troll here but....

Why would 3D gain faster acceptance? Who wouldn't want tits to basically jump out of your screen and nearly hit you in the face?
Another article at http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-06-22/u-s-deepwater-oil-drilling-ban-lifted-today-by-new-orleans-federal-judge.html provides a little more insight.

You can't feed it! If you feed it, it will just follow you home.
Damn strays.
Public Intoxication.
It involves mind altering chemicals.
Go go gadget Cray-1!
Movies and television do it as well.
Your user name is oddly appropriate to your comment....
You're complicating it.
Yes Votes >= No Votes * 2

destroying a budget surplus?
Oh please, I've seen this line thrown about so many times that it makes me believe that most people have no clue how the government funds itself.
There was no surplus. It was all smoke and mirrors and all you have to do to verify that is look at the US debt for the "surplus" years. It went up.
So the space program not only killed seven people, but needlessly killed seven people.
Yep, needlessly sure is right. That is the price we pay for letting environmental concerns trump safety.
Thank you for your anecdotal evidence.

The hotel Polissia. It was quiet a pleasant day.
I recognize that place.... that's where you take your sniper shot from in CoD4.
A better link....

Well it is selective editing.

Well, I read the report by the investigating officer. Where he identifies RPGs, also images taken after the fact verified the RPG. You can read the report from this PDF http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/04/06/6--2nd.brigade.combat.team.15-6.investigation.pdf
Tim Burton did that with Mars Attacks!
