on long road trips your passengers could chat with friends, look up roads on google.maps, or even check the weather. if you are driving with multipule vehicles, you could have a lan party or play UT. just think of the possibilities!!
i don't have a problem with the desktops, but they seem to be losing ground on drivers. the state of wireless drivers could use some help. mine works, but it's a pain. and i have yet to figure out how to get my ATI to do full 3D. it makes me appreciate my old nVidia harware.
i've been running debian/etch(testing) for ages. the whole freeze thing doesn't matter to me. i don't know what everyone else has their apt sources pointed at, but the rate of updates haven't changed any that i can see.

reminds me of the tornado warnings in middle america/central plains. by the time the Hams radioed that one was on the ground, it was confirmed, and a signal was sent to ativate the system, the tornados were often over.

it seems to me that the earth has already started to work on this approach on it's own. over the past few years as the ocean temperatures have increased, so has the techtonic activity. the number of earth quakes have been on the increase. i would speculate that an increase in volcanic eruptions will be next.
the question will be what effect this will have on humans?
