In the UK at least, binmen (not their actual title, no idea what the PC board have called them recently) have overalls with high-visibility waistcoat and overtrousers, along with heavy-duty gauntlets. I'm willing to bet they don't smell at all.
Anecdote from the Ars article: The reviewer played a section of the game where he played with his kid, talked with his wife, and helped clean the house. Later on, his real life wife pointed out that he could have played with his real life kid, talked with his real life wife, and helped clean his real life house, and his life would probably be better for it (as his kid would be happier, his wife would be happier, and his house would be tidy).
This isn't a game; It's a Life Sim. A much better one than 2nd "Penisville" Life will ever be.
To make people want to rehabilitate requires them being shown that life is better once they choose rehabilitation.
US prison system teaches them to shank their cell mate before they turn them into a rag doll. I can't for the life of me figure out why they'd come out worse.
44 years puts him at 95 on release. If he makes it that far... I get the impression that anyone who has heard of him will be inclined to make his stay less than enjoyable.
Death would get the guy out of the way for cheaper, but I disagree with it on principle. It's a difficult situation.
But that's the point, isn't it. Start small, work upward...
Rome wasn't built in a day, nor was it destroyed as such. I'm not promoting anarchy or disestablishmentarianism, but just that democracy is still possible. All it needs is for people to learn to get their news from multiple sources, check facts, read a little more, and investigate even a tiny amount into the back-hand / poison pill policies which are charged through Parliament on the back of "Think of the Children" / "Terrorism is bad!" legislation.
God knows the idiot-box won't tell them that (Despite Cowell's idea to to Political X-Factor... God knows what that effect that will have).
They're military grunts, not PC repair men. Tell me, from looking at the case behind the LCD of a laptop, can you tell me where the hard drive is located?
Do you know what the symbol for "Arm" is on the firing control mechanism for an M1 Abrahms main gun? I'm guessing they have a better idea than you, but then again you have a better idea of which symbol means "hard disk" on a computer case.
The laws against teens taking indecent images of themselves which you refer to is because they are still not deemed to have a reasonable view of repercussions of their actions. Kids to stupid things, and kids are vindictive. A spurned lover at the age of 16 or 17 could post pictures online, or send them to friends or family of the person pictured. Granted an adult can do the same, but they more often than not have a much more grounded reality than a teen, and are often much more aware of the social, emotional, and legal repercussions which can befall them. I suppose it comes down to how you view other people's skin, and your views on sexuality really, but that's more a personal thing. To stop people taking advantage of those who may not know any better, there needs to be an arbitrary cut-off.
FWIW, I think the enforcement and punishments for offences like putting 17 year olds who take topless photos of themselves on the sex offenders register is ludicrous. I still tell the young people I encounter to be careful, though, if conversation sways onto law or current affairs. A lot don't realise how dangerous it is.
I don't care whether Simon Cowell gets richer or not. I care that there is enough power held with the people to change history.
You might think it's small fry changing the outcome of the Christmas charts, but what if the next Facebook group is "Labour are shafting our rights. Let's get them out!"
From the Facebook group: "Fed up of Simon Cowell's latest karaoke act being Christmas No. 1? Me too... So who's up for a mass-purchase of the track 'KILLING IN THE NAME' from December 13th... as a protest to the X Factor monotony?"
I've bought it from iTunes, Amazon, and re-bought the album in my local HMV. Get it done, people.
The game is as it was meant to be. All that is missing is jibs and corpses.
If that's what the game is all about, I'm glad I've not bought it.

Must be boring work, though.
As an Aspie, I can safely say that I have not noticed any of these signs of emotional state ever in my life.
(Not an Asperger's diagnosee, just throwing more stereotypes into the mix! Being controversial is fun!)
The other 88% have NoScript too, which prevented their usage script from running and listing installed addons! :D
The sum of your arguments is 131. As a palindrome, I call your argument circular and self-referencing, which are logical fallacies.

The guy is 51. This is a life sentence.
And some just need separating from the vulnerable. Permanently.

One of my mates was given the "blue pill" by his colleagues once (24 years old). He had one word to describe the effect:
"Relentless."
It's not about populatiry, it's about proving that the public en masse can change anything they want.
I'm waiting for the "National ID card is a bad idea. Let's get it abandoned" group. Also called the "Vote for anyone but Labour" group.
What do you mean? Those bullets are single use only...
It's also had its Bore Evacuator removed.
Good job purposefully missing the point.
The very definition of "troll."
"... [T]he industry is not pleased with the licensing arrangements that allow the games to use their songs."
So, they're licensed, and allowed to use the songs?
Glad that's all cleared up, then. Move along, nothing to see here.
I roughly equate the rate for student employment to being one day's work is equal to one night's worth of beer in the Union bar.
So, around £1.50 per hour. £10 will get you a lot of beer at 90p a pint.

Well, we all know that David Hume could out consume Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.

Rage Against The Machine - "Killing In The Name" for UK Christmas No.1!

I want to know whether he composted the cabbage leaves afterwards... Climate change, and all that.
Probably not. Imagine this as being like a new oil well... A real gusher, stuff flies up hundreds of feet into the air.
Now imagine that oil is hot enough to melt the rock you're standing on, and the machinery you just used to dig the well.
Oh, and there's 800,000 cubic miles of it. (rounded from D x W x W (410*45*45) from article, not accurate).
