For some reason I'm thinking of the following exchange in "Hogfather":
The mother took a deep breath. "You can't give her that!" she screamed. "It's not safe!" IT'S A SWORD, said the Hogfather, IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE SAFE. "She's a child!" shouted Crumley. IT'S EDUCATIONAL. "What if she cuts herself?" THAT WILL BE AN IMPORTANT LESSON.
Of course you need some books chained to the shelves. Keeps 'em from snapping at the students. There's grimoires that'll take your hand right off if given the chance. And what about the erotic books? Hopefully, they're in vats of crushed ice to keep 'em from spontaneously combusting.
Betelgeuse is in the Milky Way galaxy. Oh and BTW you might consider moving soon. By some estimates you've got about 600-800 years left. However, others predict it going super nova in 1000-10000 years.
Or stop them from using pigs' brains. Next thing you know they'll create the Peking Homunculus and it will try to kill the Commissioner of the Icelandic Alliance's children.

I think there are a few tailless Old World Monkeys (like the Barbary Macaques, for example.) All the New World Monkeys have tails, though.
