Uhmm... no developers for jailbroken software are coming close to competing with the numbers that the AppStore does. Your numbers are so skewed it is laughable. All the best software is in the App Store and a great many developers are making a pretty penny.
iPhone 3G has GPS, not sure how you missed that announcement.
I don't care about stereo bluetooth, sorry.
I could just as easily say that the N95 doesn't support Cocoa apps as a limitation.. your point about application language is well... pointless.
MMS support: Honestly, I don't care about this either. Why should I care that I can send some shit photo via text message when I can attach it to something more useful, like an email.
Again, I could care less about video on my phone. I have a HD handheld cam for that.
Let me ask you this... how is the web browser on your N95? I bet it doesn't beat out Safari on the iPhone... and you know what, besides using my phone for calls, the biggest feature I use is surfing the net.
I don't know about Apple, but I'm reasonably sure that Android is not a threat to the iPhone. Ooooh.. a big clunky phone with half the functionality and 1/10th the sex appeal of the iPhone! Watch out Apple!
What's that? It doesn't have a headphone jack, it can't play movies, it also cannot tether and is locked in to a carrier? Wow.. sounds like a real iPhone killer to me.
Hate to break it to you Android-gives-me-a-boner-nerds, but you make up about 0.1% of the population. The rest of the world buys their phone because they see flashy advertisements and their favorite celebrities using the iPhone.
His chances are so slim because no one votes for him. He has debated with the others and nothing he did or said caught the eye of the vast majority of Americans. Saying his chances are slim because of "logic like this" is delusional.
Until I read this: I've been known to actually turn down offers of "two chicks at the same time."
Seriously though, I'd love to see the look on two girls' faces when this guy says, "Sorry ladies, I'm looking for a vi user, and you two look like you can't even use Word."
When did Google's stock dive? Last I saw it was hitting record highs...
Did any of these announcements happen on any of the days the market has fallen by 200+ points? Because that has happened about 4 times in the last month.
Actually the hardware isn't that pricey at all. Build me a PC with all the features of the iMac and I guarantee you will be at roughly the same price point. The only difference is, one will be a well engineered Mac and the other will be a big loud ugly box with a big ugly display. Choose what you prefer.
Companies are always trying to get some extra press by talking up their next line of music players and how they are going to be "iPod Killers" (what ever happened to Microsofts iPod killer?) Then they release a music player like the Z5 that tries to mimic all the great features of the iPod but inevitably they fall short because all they are doing is mimicing to the edge of blatently copying.
The Z5 adds nothing to the table (no, extended battery life does not an iPod killer make). It is twice as thick as the Nano yet has the same capacity and most importantly, the same price point.
So I first have to plug my iPod into a wireless charging adapter, then lay it on the "wireless charging pad" that is plugged into the wall... Wow, that is so amazing. You know what else would be sweet? If I could just place it in a cradle. Oh wait...
Your statement is utter crap. Suggesting that an achievement must be difficult in order to be worthwhile is fallacious.
Where in my statement did I suggest that an achievement must be difficult to be worthwhile? Your arguments make no sense. He didn't flunk out of engineering school because other students had unfair advantages (i.e. engineering powertools vs. an engineering hammer). It is an equal playing field and he couldn't make the cut.
My statement was this: he has no one to blame but himself.
Calling himself a washout is the only thing he got right in this article. Plain and simple: engineering school did not fail him, he failed engineering school.
Uneducated? I hardly think that is the problem. Just not everyone is a RMS category zealot.
Open your eyes, big business (read big $$$) rules. Even Slashdot was bought out. Hell, Slashdot runs Microsoft ads!
The fact of the matter is, it isn't a Microsoft problem, this is just how commercialism on the grand scale works.
If you want to complain about a cavalier attitude towards Microsoft's business practices, let me ask you this: can you guarantee me that you don't own plenty of products that were produced overseas in sweatshops?
If you want to attack business practices, why not start with ones that are in gross violation of human rights, i.e. making children work 12 hour days to produce the new line of Nikes.
You kids all want to bash on a new Microsoft product without having any idea what it is, what it can do, who it is for, etc.
Sparkle != Flash
Completely built on top of.NET for Avalon, Sparkle is a (even more than a) UI development tool for creating vector based interfaces. The beautiful thing is, everything you create is just a.NET object that can be manipulated by the developer.
What does this mean?
It means an artist can use an artist's toolset to create a beautiful fully functional front end, then pass it off to the developer to do the backend. No more mockups that can't be translated into a real application front end.
10 times the size of Alaska would make this thing about 1/10th the size of the Pacific. That is pretty huge.. and a little unbelievable.
I'm no fanboy, I'm more like Capt. Obvious.

Neither has Linux.

Be honest, your reply went more like this...
Just a branded office? -- takes bong hit -- man, it's on the web.
Have fun carrying your filing cabinet around.
I leave an encrypted backup DVD with my parents twice a year when I visit, making this whole issue moot.
Little did you know that your mother has been using those DVDs as drink coasters at coctail parties for years.
Better luck next time sucker.

My £ 38 (uk) "no name" portable 512 Mb MP3 player has no screen (other than a crappy little LCD character display).
Wow. Sounds like a real piece of shit.
What should I do during the 4-6 week wait?
No way was that scratched that bad by the inside of your pocket, unless you have sandpaper pants.

Look at Aimee Mann. Her career has certainly gone better since going independent.
Aimee who?? Yeah, her career is really taking off since going independent.
Hilarious dude, hilarious.
Does anyone else hear crickets?
I streamed it without one hiccup. Full screen on a 20" widescreen it was very sharp. It is over an hour long.
Watch the fscking video.

You needed Clippy for that last post...
"I see you are trying to write a joke. I'm sorry, you do not appear to have the humor component installed."
