Not true. They can sue you, even if they have a strong belief that they will lose.

You can be sued for any reason, by anyone. And in many cases, he with the most money, wins.

Look at RIAA, SCO, ORACLE, various patent trolls, etc.

Next thing you know, I'm driving in reverse.

    Lost 3 pounds.

That's only net weight change. How much FAT did you loose?

Since you don't know that (most likely), tell us how far you biked in 2 hours when you started, and how far you biked in 2 hours when you ended. Or the circumference of your waist. Or your thighs.

I'm going to guess, one or more of those are not the same amount.

And if they are, then you weren't really exercising. Aerobic exercising is raising your heart rate to 80-90% of your maximum for 30 minutes. And if you do that, you will change your body for the better.

Net weight change is the worst number to pay attention to.

I've recently resumed my exercise program, after way to long off of it. In the last four months, I've gained 5 pounds, since I've not changed my diet.

But since I've lost 2-3 inches from my waist, tripled the number of pushups, situps and squats, and increased the weight on all my other exercises, I'm not really worried about the weight gain. For me, the major number I pay attention to is my waist size. It's going down, so mission accomplished.

And yes, you say they are all crap, but from out of the pile of crap, is where every band you like, dug out from. And I'd bet most didn't start doing it for money. The started for the music, and the chicks! And the dream of fame. Once they got there they decided money was nice too. Humans have been making music for a long time. And for much of that time they weren't being paid for it. If we stop paying the ones we have now, others will still make new music.

You information about Churches and CCLI is great and sounds like it could be of benefit to a Church in these times of perpetual copyright.

But by what you stated, it is a voluntary program to simplify a problem.

But what the original article wants is an involuntary fee for all users of the internet, not withstanding if that user listens to music or not.

There is a subtle difference there.

Personally, I don't see the need for a church to have a license to sing a song, even if they make copies to hand out. We should make Christmas carolers pay a fee. And that guy with the hat on the sidewalk downtown.

Um.. yeah... you have those studies, yet? So you want that pregnant mother to have to breathe all those carcinogens, but only twice a week. Gee, think of the unborn children. But more importantly. Do you believe in Democracy? Will of the people? Oregon voters have REJECTED self-pumping several times. With huge amounts being spent on the For side, and little spent on the Against side. Oregonians don't want it. One of the big points during the campaigns, and I assume other states campaigns, was that it would lower gas prices. Notice cheap gas, outside of Oregon? What are the pros and cons of each side? It's a silly disagreement, with a simple solution. The developers should have said, 'We thought it was great, but if you don't like it here is how to turn it off.' There is no 'con' to doing that. And the 'pro' is not pissing on/off you users.

Your math is off. Let's make up some numbers. 9% of 3 trillion tax dollars = 270 billion dollars. 270 billion dollars in interest paid divided by the total debt of 10 trillion = 2.7% So based on these numbers, 9% of tax revenue it used to pay the average 2.7% interest rate on the total debt. The interest rate is not 9%, that is just the percent of 'income' (cough) that we are using to pay on the interest on the debt, we've already spent. (By 'we', I mean those idiots in DC.)
