Last company I worked for actually ran a Lotus Notes server on it until just before I left. It worked great, never required maintenance or upgrades, and supported all the features we needed.
This isn't really a victory. It should have never gone this far in the first place. Calling it a victory is like saying someone who got hit by a car and survived was lucky... if they were really lucky, they wouldn't have been hit in the first place.
With all these civil cases going on, could they shape MS's behavior more than the antitrust trial?
I could see a future where microsoft is afraid to do the "bad things" they like to do for fear of lawsuits.... but then I think about their huge pile of money, and the idea seems laughable.
And what ever happened to the EU antitrust type trial?
I was just kidding around when I had made that post. But seriously, when you read the transcript the story isn't as bad as the headline. A lot of questioning if software is good or not, with arguments both ways. The big problem that was mentioned is teachers not understanding how or where to use computers. There are places where they can be useful, and places where they are not. Teachers need the training to make that distinction. It really does come down to the teacher.
Sounds more like a patent to change how the mac looks, not just the display. Maybe my mac's case is blue in the morning, and yellow at night? If this is the case, there MUST be things that do similar things.
Hell, wouldn't certain animals qualify as prior art?
And what about novelity (is that a word?)? Screw the prior art searches, we need examiners that can say "This is not novel, so it's not patentable, even tho no one else has done it."
Don't think that would fly in the US... here, speeding tickets are giving to individuals, not phones. The prosecuting attorney could prove my phone went 100mph, but not me. Maybe I lent it to someone else?
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety^H^H^H^H^H comfort, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety^H^H^H^H comfort.
I'm sure part of the problem is commercials for prescription drugs! What the hell. I see commercial for some drug (claritan, propecia, whatever)... go to their website that diagnoses me as having X disorder, and then suggests I go see my doctor to get this medication (because no others work as well).
Usually, even if the doctor disagrees they have no choice but to prescribe since the patient will just change primary care physicians to one who will play ball. It just sucks.
that was the exact reason I stopped playing... It stopped being fun. I just hit that point sooner than most people. But now my fiance wants to try out Asherons Call... is that any better? Should I split the cost of an account with her?

Cars aren't broken out of the factory. But a PC with Windows on it? Doesn't seem to fair to me.
In a couple years we'll be seeing the same this with video portable devices.
That's all great and all... but until there's affordable printing solutions that can print better than film, there won't be as widespread adoption.
WMA is a crappy format with horrible DRM in it, if no one uses it, it won't catch on... pure and simple.
The signup is broken... looks like this is the culprit:
The site www.madonotcall.govconnect.com is running Microsoft-IIS/5.0 on Windows 2000.
(From netcraft)

I didn't think the movie could have gotten better... but LOTR with naked babes ... wow.

Or... since you'll be a monopoly, you'll jack up the price nice and high.
Or maybe that $10/month will only last until a majority of people have signed up, then the price will go way up.
Now the RIAA could buy the music stores, and only offer their music, instead of the RIAA just pressuring the music stores with price breaks.
It's easy ... 3 Parts Gin, 4 Parts Vodka, 1 Part foosball table.
Is it just the coolness factor? Or is there another reason to have one?

My bad... I guess I confused it with the "Non Obvious" clause.

Don't let the teachers & principals see this, I might be out of a job! (Work for educational software company)
Wish I could comment more on this, but not sure where company intellectual property on stratedgies start.
read the patent.
It's on a method of doing it using light to shine through the case.

Live free or die!

Or did I fall for a troll?

One word... Spamassasin
... today, the first spam since I started using it got through.
I've been using it for 2 months
And for those of you who haven't heard of rekonstruction:

When is Rekonstruction going to finally come out?
I'd have to go ahead and vote for Congress. They passed the PATRIOT act AND the DMCA, and refuse to do anything about ICANN.
