    I have one, although it doesnt work as a swap partition as in linux (et al) it's just a partition that holds the pagefile.sys(s) for my various Windows installs (2 XP, 1 Vista) and the only other partition on that HD is my "Downloads" partition, so if im not downloading, any paging that is done has a HD to itself to play with.

    Interesting, but I think the real problem is that a 1 dimensional barcode is impossible for anything to see.

    "Linear" barcode I can handle, but they still have 2 dimensions. Likewise a 2D barcode should probably be called quadratic. Then just call them L2D and Q2D Barcodes or something.

    Its 4 minutes if its 1024/8 which is a 1GB line, not 1GB Per Second

    Not that it matters cause neither the 1Gbps nor the 30GB cap reality, or proven yet.

    True, however if you are going to be using it for a few hours/most of the day as just a notepad, or will only be using it for a single application, then you could/should be able to disable a dimm, or otherwise limit the memory in the BIOS which would knock it down to 1GB, and thats far more do-able (on a 4GB drive) or even 512MB if its in 4 dimms... and should still easily support whatever quick apps you need (on XP or Linux anyways)

    I think thats the sort of the point here, this is a basic law about elections, about as basic as "be at work by 9:00AM" and the fact that some campaign(s) with hundreds of lawyers, and assorted other people(s) can't even make a simple deadline, that by skimming a previous link posted seems to have been around for at least 23 years.

    Everyone knows that (most, if not all) politicians are devious little shits that try to circumvent anything that might be in their way, law or otherwise, but now they can't seem to even (metaphorically) show up on time.

    I suppose to allow access to the data for all sorts of colleagues and universities and such, maybe even to the point where they can input their desired settings into the LHC, thus, access to the internet, and control over parts of LHC.

    After all this is almost a "world" experiment, not just a little lab doing its own thing.

    Not that it makes it excusable, but its the obvious (easiest) way to link everyone together without spending millions in a private network (which they may have to do now).

    I was going to ask for a citation, but a simple Google for "items found in coal" resulted with Impossible Stuff Found In Coal And Rock

    Going from there you'l find more, but its odd that they are (from what ive found) all from the late 1800's/early 1900's... which my scepticism seems to over-ride as just wives-tales sort of stuff... a sort of joke that got taken seriously... or just to make the papers...

    Not to say that I necessarily believe that its 300 million years old either, because coal can be made in a 10 thousand years as well, and probably even sooner given the right conditions...

    You could be right, 4.2 million for say an older cold-war nuclear missile, but maybe 42 million for a newer one... although if you buy in bundles of 42, you get a 4.2% discount...

    Not accurate in the slightest, but sounds kinda right... and for most people, thats what matters.

    Like Samah said, thats the intent of it...

    But, if you are that pissy about it, there is a simple fix:

    Add http://news.google.com/ to your favorite/bookmarks, then go to the properties for that bookmark, in the "keyword" option, type "news", then whenever you type "news" into the addressbar and hit enter, it will go to news.google.com...

    If you have various news sites you go to, then use "newsG" and "newsC" etc...

    Opera has the same option (among others), but IE and Chrome don't seem to...

    Not that im for laws against file sharing, but if Canada had no restrictions on file sharing, then I'd imagine there would be a lot of Canadian rippers, and the USians could download from them, which would contrast with the US laws, and then either force Canada back into laws against it, or restrict the transfers between Canada and the US, since corporately many reside in/on both countries, unlike most central European, south American, or African places, etc.

    Alternatively though, it may just force the corporations out of Canada (no distribution, or artist farming) which could easily be argued would be a good thing.

    The same goes for a single state within the US, it poses a threat that the industry can't let pass, what if it becomes a trend? OMGz! And I think thats mostly what they are scared of, regardless of population, any leeway is "bad" (according to them).

    Disclaimer: I'm Canadian, and I just woke up... so if this sounds like nonsense, it just might be.

    Yeah, I kept mine there, along with various other profanity and disgust with the new Facebook.

    But, I wonder how long before there is some sort of by-pass script, which will allow you to use the old status update after the new Facebook is the only Facebook... but that's probably just the lazy black-hat in me hoping for some cr4zy h4x0rz to start fucking with Facebook, it would be a great day when I go to FB, and there's is some error message about the database being hijacked... or everyones profile pic is goatse.

    However, that is for http://www.new.facebook.com/ but switching to the old one, does allow you to use it, but as anyone who has a Facebook profile should have noticed (if they are using the old one) it has a Notice at the top, saying that it will be manditorily switched to the new one "soon"

    Actually I was including them (2 other people)... I use about 45GB's a month average they use about 20GB's combined...

    YouTube, say 150kb/s, is about 12.5 GB's a day if its streaming continuously... which would break 250GB's pretty much at 20 days... but who does that? 3 hours a day is only 1.5GB's...

    Gaming, is about the same, VoiP is about half that...

    3 Hours Of:
    YouTube, 1.5GB's
    Gaming, 1.5GB's
    VoiP, 1GB

    1 Movie (presuming your 8.5GBs)

    Thats 11 hours of your day (for a single person)

    You'd hit 250 at about the 20th day, give or take a few days for normal web browsing... at which point, you realize how pathetic your life is, and go outside... divide that by 3... do you spend 4 hours a day doing those things? does your wife/girlfriend? sons/daughter? every day?

    I'm not saying that 250GB's is some perfect level or anything, but if you are going above that, maybe you should be buying 2 lines, and trying to beat 500GB's... or, perhaps you need to step back from the PC/TV/Phones more...
