Hybrid? Yes, but I liked it much better, in WC2 days, when the CD itself contained both the Mac and the PC version of the game. I'd be happier if they had a copy for $10 more or something now that has both version on the CD(s). Hell, Blizzard is one of the people I buy games from when I want to play them online (D2)
Now tell me/him how to do that again, but within the following rules: *Only using OSS on Windows (besides the OS) *Using *nix *Using OSS on *nix *Using a C64
What about those of us that want to get a head-start on our "secondary education" and aren't in a site lisenced college, but a high school in the middle of no where. Two years ago my school shelled out X for VS6, I doubt they're going to shell out X+Y for VS.NET to give a max total of 5 kids a chance.
Additionally the standard audience of a club is usually exposed to high sound levels over longer periods therefore having a reduced ability of hearing these high frequencies.
I think this was meant to be:

That's the whole point you *nix people don't get. If you want people to use Linux on the desktop so damn much, MAKE IT EASY TO USE.
You know why people don't want to learn? Besides being stubborn, you create your own FUD by having elitist attitudes.
There's also no where for people to go for support locally in 90% of the cases. I work at probably the only PC shop in the lower half of my state (CT) that will even have half an idea if people call up about their problems with *nix.
Make a damn decent wm/shell (blackbox is where it's at, kudos to those who made it, and kudos to those who "ported" it to win32). Make it easy to use. Make a simple installer (Mandrake has an easy one, except for package management, because it's still TOO DAMN COMPLICATED for the average user.). Make stuff work the first time you try it. People don't want to have to fuck with getting their modems or CDRWs to work, not to mention their DVD players. Sure there's been alot of work to make this better, but it's still not there.

I work in a "mom and pop store," "wrench pc shop," what-have-you. Walmart has a damn good chance of driving us out of business (cause one is opening right down the street. Why? There's no way in hell we can undercut our prices anymore and still make a profit on it. Why? We sell quality. Even if we put the exact same hardware together, it's not going to work well because of volume pricing.
The only good thing going for us is that Walmart doesn't offer support. You need to ship it back to Microtel to get it. Service won't pay the bills though. Hardware won't either. But the point is, combined, they bring us business by word of mouth, and opens up people to our other services we offer (custom machines, on-site help for home and offices, etc etc etc).
Basically, all I'm trying to say is this: PLEASE support the little guy, cause when you need him to fix your whatever (this doesn't only apply to computers), he's not going to be there. All because you forgot about supporting local economy.
Antec cases 0wn the Dell cases. I have one of the SOHO file server style cases. All I need to do is pull a handle/latch and the door will slide off. Everything is inside and easily gotten to.

I've had CD-Rs that looked like they got "burnt" through. Or if something acidic got on parts of it. If you've ever destroyed a CD-R for fun, you know how it looks when you pull off the top of the CD-R. That's what it looked like. I think it was caused due to humidity in the air. So store them in cases inside an airtight container, or failing that, something like a tupperware container.
(for those that don't get it, the Rosetta Stone had Hieroglyphs, Demotic characters, and Greeks characters, all of which had the same thing written in them, so we were able to find out what the Hieroglyphs said.)
What about when the brain is still forming pathways? I don't remember my psych course, but I think that was during early childhood development, ages 2-5 or something. I played a hell of a lot of videogames then, and according to the state they say I'm smart (till I got lazy and revoked it).
It says "Japanese Import" on most of the stuff (my Cowboy Bebop DVDs were this). I really think it's high quality bootleg stuff, because AFAIK, most DVDs produced in Japan: * don't have Chinese subtitles * cost less than the US version of said series (I paid $60 I believe for them (Buy It Now off of eBay), while the US version (which is "Limited Edition" like my DVDs) go for $350 on amazon.com) * come with the DVDs in paper sleeves outside the box (only with my Cowboy Bebop discs, not my Love Hina ones...)
Meh. Nice guy that runs it though, fast shipping if the product is in stock (ordered it Saturday night, confirmed a bit latter, shipped Monday morning, arrived cross country (CA > CT) in 3 days via Priority Mail).
The learning curve is high for many complex things in linux, which many people don't have time to learn, including myself. That is why I stick with doze, I can set up and tweak XP to how I want it in less than an hour, whereas it'd take me days in *nix.

Most clichéd response EVER.
I would reply with the other cliché that "not all guys act like assholes, and they still don't get any" but I won't.

If you're that happy, buy a $50 copy of Photoshop LE and pirate the full version.

AIM stores buddy lists on their servers (not that I'm happy that either do it).
ICQ does the later, and AIM will give you updates on when a person will be online, and can play a certain sound, blah blah blah...

Haven't had one crash on me yet.

VIA has extremely cheap chips now. If I could only find a dual or more proc board that supports VIAs....

Nah, we just need to make a PGP Stone!

I second this. My boss at work runs this for his workstation/server. OC'd them to 1125 each. It works rather nice. Has almost .5tb to boot.

Viruses.
(I'm sure there's a stupid law/bill/thing somewhere in the US about them being illegal.)
Funny, I can get a windows box to do what I want/need, and I still can't get my Linux box to do the same. Maybe I just suck.

Meh, don't be fooled, it's not 100% perfect, but it's pretty damn close. No slit or window skinning YET.
If you do want to try it out, go with BB4Win, I prefer it over Bluebox, becasue it emulates nix BB better IMO.
Blackbox.
Now on Windows too!
