Great, Toyota quality in a Tesla. There goes Tesla down the tubes...
Personally, I see this whole deal failing. Toyota is a preditory company, they will invest in Tesla only to bring them down in order to remove competition in the market. In 5 years, Telsa will be gone. Mark my words.
Buying one will send the profits of the sales to Japan and reduce even more jobs. There may be only 10 jobs left in the country after your purchase, which you will probably need to sell to one of those 10 to pay off other debts.
I bought an AWE64 Gold, and was very dissappointed. It just didn't have the rich sweet sound that an older Gravis Ultrasound I used for years had. I bought the AWE64 because Gravis had gone bankrupt, and getting drivers for the new versions of Windows was just not possible any more. I've really missed the sweet sound of that Gravis card.
P.S. I miss my Gravis Ultrasound card. Still have it, but of course it's worthless due to no drivers or hardware support any more. I think it was the best sounding card I ever owned!
The first IBM compatible computer I ever owned was a Tandy. Tandy's were the only IBM type that had real sound abilities (that and 16 color ability). This was before Adlib cards and Game Blaster/Sound Blaster cards were available. Sierra Games ran great on Tandy computers, unlike any other IBM machine.
Yes, I would sit back. I would not want to risk public opinion on my company that would be negative. Nothing here was lost or destroyed, and everything was returned as requested. Apple has recieved more than they could have asked for so far in this bad situation. Taking steps of revenge only makes it worse.
Only God is allowed revenge, not man. Somewhere the madness has to stop. If Apple were to stop here, they would not risk any negative annotations in the public eye.
And, no the police would not continue to find the guy who stole my car if it were returned. I know this because I've been there. And, yes, I did give the man who did that my forgiveness. Even though I have no idea who it is.
The real scenario with Apple is nowhere near the same. My situation had no public opinion on me or my company at stake. Job's very much at stake. His company has been basking in the limelight for a long time. One wrong step and it's all over, fat lady singing and all.
Hatred is a sickness. I do not fall to that sickness. Do you?
Jobs is going to end up (if not already) looking like a real jerk in this whole case. He just needs to swallow his pride and leave well enough alone. Apple will gain nothing by taking revenge on these people. And it is revenge. Sad.
I believe there are a number of real problems in modern higher education institutions. Two of which are very negative toward the success of the students, and ultimately the human race.
They require way too much unrelated material in many degrees, much of which is basically useless. I do believe some are needed. But the requirements are far too heavy just to "make hours available". It's as if it's padded to look good, not be good.
And, the method of "success or failure" is very wrong. No single student learns material the same. Some learn it better in some situations, other do completely different. Any student should be able to learn at his/her pace, be it fast or slow, and be allow to re-do any course for success only. The whole idea of grades is competition based and serves no real purpose other than for vanity. Competition is good, but only for competitive goals, not for life or education goals. It is a negative burden in this use of education for life. And who's to say a student who takes a single class again won't learn it deeper than a single time? Wouldn't that be better in some cases? Or a student who can learn some materials very quickly and effeciantly so as to move on to more material?
Modern higher ed needs a complete reboot. IMHO.
Pojut, do you really understand what the internet is about? Few games are truly "hidden" from all gamers these days. Indie games have a very open and easy to find access to the average player.
Being a developer myself, I'll stick with I.E. In my experience I.E. has returned expected results countless more times than Firefox, Chrome or any other browser. Version 8 answers most of the "not compatible/compliant" retoric anyway. And, overall I'd say it's the most secure browser on the web today. You can see it differently, but those glasses went out of style long ago.
My ISP for one of my work's location gave us 16 addresses. For this location, I only needed 1. I argued with them to take back the other 15, but they would not. I wonder how many unused IP4 addresses are out there?
This man obviously chose the wrong career. I love computers, even all the bad stuff. I also love working with people, no matter how computer illiterate they are. Too many sysadmins hate people. That's a bad thing.
The way I see it, if management does care it will always be a problem.
With the proliferation of e-mail in the home environment, laziness and poor etiquette was inevitable. I told our company owners that it's their company, and their reputation on the line if e-mails with odd backgrounds and goofy footers were sent to customers. They agreed. It's now company policy to write all e-mails in plain text and no fancy formatting what-so-ever. Along with proper greetings, and proper reply structures.
E-mail etiquette should be very very similar to business letter etiquette. Would you trust a paper letter from a legitimate business with goofy stuff at the bottom?
Policy always works if taking from the top down...

Any comment made by nVidia these days (and usually in the past) is nothing more than 100% marketing. Worthless.

I much prefer 16x10 displays. So much more room to get work done. 16x9 stinks to high heaven!
