The stadiums aren't just for football, the teams are throwing in with the city for a building that will be used by both the team and the city.
Here's my problem with this line of thinking: If it is such a great investment (the stadium), why aren't their private investors lined up to invest in this money-making building? Why is city/government investment needed?
I can prove that the frequency 4Ãf--10^14 Hz exists, but I can't prove that I can perceive that frequency as the color red, which is what you want me to prove.
Just use a color sensor that indicates when it sees red. Show the color-blind person that sometimes the sensor will turn on when exposed to certain objects (red objects). Then send the color blind person out with this sensor to find 'red' objects. Have them bring the 'red' objects (and some other random objects that look grey to them, but aren't 'detected' by the sensor.)
When he places the objects in front of you, point out all the red objects (without the need for the sensor). Once you point out all the red objects correctly, they will know that there is such a thing as 'red' that your eyes can detect.
Seriously, did anybody think they wanted just the one phone? That belonged to somebody that is now dead (so it is effectively a closed case)? And I'm unsure of how the government thinks that software designed for one phone could not be used on basically every other phone out there? If the government wants us to trust them, they either need to actually be honest, or not be so bad at lying...
If a country isn't willing to spend the money to clean up their sewage-infested waterways BEFORE getting the Olympic hosting gig... what is their motivation to do it AFTER they have been given the hosting gig?
This happens every time. The IOC is bribed and promised all sorts of things (Chine: Suuuure, we'll let the media roam freely and report whatever they like. Promise!). Then, when it is too late to change venues, the host country reneges on all those promises, knowing that it is too late for the IOC to move the venue. If the IOC had any brains, they would require certain minimum standards be in place BEFORE they even look at a hosting proposal. But then, who would pay for their kids' private tuition?

I thought the whole point of H1-Bs was to fill jobs that they couldn't find qualified applicants for? But now they are firing (excuse me, 'laying off') the workers, then turning around and claiming they need to import people? If this doesn't get rid of the excuses for the H1-B program, NOTHING will...
I always look over the map/directions that a GPS gives me to make sure it seems at least reasonable, and that I have a basic understanding of where I'm going. I'm shocked that people just enter a destination and follow whatever the voice says to do.
returning to its center position once you've selected your gear.
Who thought THAT was a good idea? So they thought it would be a good idea to have a shifter be in the same position REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT IS IN NEUTRAL, DRIVE, REVERSE, OR PARK? Man, I'm amazed that got beyond the first round of design review.
The car doesn't disappear in 3.5 years. It gets sold as a used car to someone else. So SOMEBODY has to replace the battery pack when it goes bad. And that will figure into the resale value.
So, why couldn't it just disable the fingerprint input and require the backup passcode? Why brick the whole damn thing? Oh, right, Apple wants even MORE of your money...
They need to have their guns and rights to purchase and carry guns revoked for one year, and then pass a gun safety class to have your guns returned. If you can't be bothered to even remember that you are currently carrying a gun, you are in no condition to be using guns.
Spending $100k on something you don't need to save $20k in taxes is not a very wise business plan.
pay it out as bonuses to top execs
Again, paying a $100k bonus to save $20k in taxes will get the shareholders to throw you out on your ass. Besides, the $100k will be taxed as income for the individual anyways, so it isn't as if the government will lose out on any revenue.
Who is she going to sue next? Mosques where radical muslims meet? Cell phone companies that allow them to [gasp] TALK to each other???? Or how about those suspicious e-mail providing companies?
Starting the car is not a critical safety function. If your car won't start, it won't kill you. If my brakes needed an RFID fob to continue functioning... well, that wouldn't end well at some point.
If Obama really thinks this tech will make things safer, and is reasonably reliable, he should first instruct the secret service members that guard him and his family to adopt these smart guns. Then we'll talk.
We can barely get annual spending budgets passed every year, because the Dems and Repubs have to appear to be at each others throats so that they can keep getting re-elected. Passing a constitutional amendment is far harder to do. I put the odds of them coming together to pass a constitutional amendment on one of the most divisive political issues at.0000000001%.
...to seize a suspected thief's property without notice, to prevent misuse of that secret.
Um, if it is a secret idea/algorithm/recipe/etc.... what good would it do to seize physical property? Are they going to grab every computer/laptop/thumbdrive/DVD/Backup drive/smartphone that belongs to a company in the hopes that they will get all copies of the stolen secret? Am I missing something here?

Gas prices will most likely be the limiting factor to how much extra driving people will do. It is already fairly easy to drive from place to place.

Is the IOC that stupid or is this just a corrupt best bribe wins scenario?
Yes.

Too bad this is neither for a motorcycle OR a manual transmission...

I literally have no idea what this sentence is suppose to mean...

Last I checked I didn't need a bio-metric identification or some RF-ID ring to get my brakes or steering to function.

And after this behavior is documented, what happens then?
