they get no interaction with other kids and are far too sheltered. It think it is a big mistake and many times its becuase the parents are scared of the world - well that is life and the world we live in you have to deal with it. Schools have many problems but hopefully the parents will help and motviate their child and guide them in the right direction. But I do not think home schooling is the correct fix.
I would absolutely say that Mozilla usage is up to 15%. Many people have converted (even my non tech friends and my parents). Even colleges are recommending their students use Firefox. At Rutgers when my sis got here computer requirements for her graduate housing they mention using firefox as an alt. and tell the student sthey should use it and provide the download for it.
all my friends at college would carry their big 21 inch TV 2 blocks away to another friends house and play 8 person halo... nevermind the times we tried to have a party while they where playing...
any age of guys (and some girls) got into another state when playing...
if there were som attracting woman in my CS dept in college (actually there was one girl) and one at work with me she would def. not be feeling isolated - i would make sure of that...
well, i disagree with some of your post about the drugs...
i have never smoked weed or taken any drug in my life, but i am a huge fan of the "jam/hippie scene" and have when i go to phish shows (the main band i like to listen to when i code) i have no problem groovin' to the 20 minute jams they play... i think it happens more than you think...
i have much experience including an internship and then 2 stays as a freelance worker at the same company (it is a huge company too)...
i will take any cs related job, salary doesnt matter, ill take anything above 25k... let me know...
(i am serious with this offer btw)
the job market sucks, be happy you have an offer for now, hopefully you will get good benefits and then stay there for a year or two and if no raise (or promise of one) try and find another job, and entry level job is all about benefits and getting some experience...
I just finished my non-paid internship at MTV's IS&T department in Times Square and they hired me for some freelance. That was my first paid week so I was looking for some nice overtime, but of course it did not happen. After trying for the Ferry to get back in Jersey, it was pointless so my boss and his wife took the ferry bus to Weehawken, and my firend and I tried the PA again. Finally they opened it up and my friend saw his Bus leaving right when we got there so we jumped on as it was entering the tunnel. I did not want to wait in the PA for my bus and finally at about 7:00 pm i made a sign stating the higways that are near my town (rt 80, 23, 46, 287) and fianlly a guy from 2 towns over picked me up (along with other strangers) and drove us to Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. It was the easiest ride through the Lincoln Tunnel and Rt 3 I have ever experienced. And when we crossed over the Parkway inotcied lights. Go dropped off in Montclair, called my parents and they picked me up and drove me home. Then stupid me wtried to back to work the next day, but could only get back via the PATH so was stuck in Hoboken for a bit, but that was another story - I wanted the money so I figured I would try and go to work...
Yeah sports are good, and as someone other people said martial arts too
but if he is old enough (to help in sports too) try wieghtlifting, he can get a partner and work on getting huge, then he can kick the kids ass if they make fun of his un-combed hair...
i agree with that 100% since there is only 1 girl in the CS or CIS major in my grade, but a standard PC is good i think, take notes in class then go home and type them up...also most schools give students space on a server to store things like notes and such...I host my notes and my study guides for all the classes i have taken in the past 3 years and my fellow students love them come test time and it helps me study too...but if u have the money i say also buy a cheap laptop so u can take field notes and stuff...
that Jobs is actually the Walrus...
1st reply?
It'll make you want to homeschool your kids.
why would anyone want to homeschool their kids?

Dave Matthews Band also did that this summer with Busted Stuff and the band even offered a link to a live webcast of their Hartfort, CT show.
