  3. DRM Sounds on The Scream Aliens Hear From the Earth · · Score: -1

Those poor aliens will have to get an itunes account and pay for the sounds first, if they want to hear our planet legally. Steve Jobs just bought the rights to them and promptly locked 'em up.

  5. Health Insurance, Employment, et al... on Where To Draw the Line With Embryo Selection? · · Score: -1

So... once that clump is selected for gestation who keeps track of it? Can you sue if it does get something like cancer? Will your health insurance at work give you a discount for selecting a Grade A Choice Cut kid? Will your employer offer a discount? Will your employer offer an educational bonus if you sign a contract saying the kid will work for the first 4 years after university for them? After all, they paid for part of that kid (via your insurance plan) and if they offer an edu discount then they should reap the benefit of that windfall. Will the gov. get to choose where that kid is educated? Presumably a school full of Grade A's will have less problems and all need better education. Will you get to live in a better house? Since that investment will need to be protected more than say a raw birth.

Just because we can do something, does not mean we should.

Build on a floodplain, expect to get wet. Build in tornado alley, expect to follow the yellow brick road. My first post was meant to be funny. But since you brought it up. Why don't you pay for the general lack of intelligence and house these people? I don't think we as a whole should defend stupidity. But if you feel empathetic, go for it.

  13. Rednecks. on Replacement For Aging Doppler Radar Being Tested · · Score: 4, Funny

I use a very tried and true method of weather prediction - Rednecks. If they are by water, there will be a flood. If they are in a trailer park, there will be a tornado. If they are on a hill - a mudslide. In the woods - forest fires.

We could save millions just watching the rednecks and avoiding those areas.

As a side note, I do enjoy the "seed-neck" on the news. You know the one, holding a beer with a stained tank top and in their boxers they always say stuff like: "We lost everythin' but we's gonna rebuild cuz this is our home." It's an aluminum can, how much needs to rebuilt?

In '97 a friend of mine was offered a recording contract by Sony. It was a 1000+ page tome. He read it over for 3 months and told them to piss off. After Sony was said and done with them they'd have gotten about 1.3 cents a song per album sale. Unless the artist(s) directly produce it themselves I have not purchased an album since that point in time. I never will again either.
