    Yes, we trust them! These are the same people who made other flawless systems like the Auto No-fly generator, the Terrorist-rating system, the No American Left Unbugged Surveillance program, and the Diebold We Vote for You system. These are highly skilled IT professionals whose work is proven perfect.
    There are no false positives.
    The computer is your friend. Trust the computer.

    I think you've got it backward. I believe the law was intended to lock us into the distribution streams and content control of the OLD millennium to protect the media companies who profit from those streams and from that control.

    Just like every other lawsuit and piece of legislation they've fought for since they started doing business.

    if we (the people of the United States) don't use our right to vote this year and in 2008 to shake up those who imposed these draconian "solutions" to terrorism, well, shame on us all.


    I just deleted a long rant about how you guys are screwed due to your two-party system and my belief that they are both terrible choices. On my second try I ended up itemizing all the things I think are wrong with both parties. The third try was just frothing anger.

    So I took a little break and think I feel better now. The bottom line is I feel bad for you Americans. No matter who the two parties choose to be the leaders, you're faced with choosing between the "power-crazed warmonger" party and the "weakly protesting but almost completely ineffectual" party.

    Hell, even when I'm trying to *not* rant, some of the froth comes through. Amazing how strongly your country's political problems can polarize people. Even the ones (like me) that can't vote

    Good luck guys. I think it's going to get worse before it gets better.

    I don't think the people who make the laws care about the consumers very much. I suspect they care more about the large companies and lobbyists that donate money and perks.

    just put it on a very small USB thumbdrive on your keychain. Plug it into whatever computer you're using and browse the thumbdrive. Double click and go -- no need to worry about leaving personal information on your friend's computer.



    You had better encrypt that thumbdrive in case the computer owner slurps all the data off it while it's plugged in.

    In one of the DVD commentaries, Joss said that they did their best to use modern street Chinese as spoken in Taiwan (? Hong Kong?) using everyday slang and swearing.

    Perhaps the reason it's so hard to understand is because it's from a different region than yourself and/or non-fluent actors reading from a phonetic script?

    Not understanding any Chinese other than "San Yut Fi Doh" and "Sheh sheh" (sp?) I think I'll be bookmarking your site :-)

    Which works great when you're spying on individual suspects.
    This wiretap program seems to be spying on everybody. There's no way the secret courts can handle that kind of paperwork.

    The key difference with SSNs is that you can't read them remotely from everyone who walks by.

    Until, for security reasons, SSN cards get rfid tags. Sometime after driver's licenses I'd wager

    Yes. Inaction, i.e. not actively helping the government, has now become a federal crime with a potential death sentence. (If the government says you are a terrorist)
