    Chinese proganda accused Tibetan monks of every kind of vice - sex, hoarding wealth, oppressing farmers. In pre-Chinese days the monastaries were the top of the social-economic system and may have had abuses. But I think the Chinese propaganda overstates the situation alot.

    There are easily detectable levels of female steroids (excreted excess birth control) and psychoactive drugs like Prozac SSRIs and ADD amphetatmines. Its is thoguh these might be affecting aquatic animals, especially amphibians- shades of Simpson's frogs.

    I believe the top end telescope is now around 3 gigapixels, by suturing a few hundred large CCD chips. The image is not meant for direct human consumption, but pre-analyzed by computer.

    I trashed an extremely disappointing new book from an MIT computer science professor on Amazon. The guy was a luminary 20 to 40 years ago, but just rambles now. I cant beleive any editor would let such a book be printed. I could be identified from the Amazon crosslinks to my other reviews.

    Originally MicroSoft was going to grow MSN as its "private internet" and conquer the Net with proprietary protocols, much like it did in operating systems, office software, and browsers(afterwards). MicroSoft proposed "extensions" to TC/IP or replacing it altogther and losts of people were upset. The Bill had his famous "Damascus" episode where he turned MicroSoft 180-degrees into embracing the then InterNet.
