"The erroneous assumption is to the effort that the aim of public education is to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence.... Nothing could be further from the truth."
Not sure where that quote is from, but it's good and I had it lying around.
I'm currently looking at getting a netbookas a college student. Not because of cost concerns, but simply because I want something to type notes on with a battery life that will work for my 7 consecutive hours of lecture. There are uses for these things, not every computer has to be able to run folding@home, Crysis, and my web server at the same time.
Hm, sry to reply to myself but according to Wikipedia it seems that the drivers have to be rewritten to support GEM. Still not sure about user-land software tho...
From what I understand the DMCA makes decryption of copyrighted content illegal, but not decryption per se. However, there have been cases of this being applied to mean anything which could be applied to the decryption of copyrighted content.
So as is far too common in legal systems, something which isn't and shouldn't be technically illegal is in fact illegal in practice.

True. It just seems like they are saying. "There isn't a body in the wreck." not "We have not found a body."
But I could have misunderstood.
Oh wait. This is/. You idiot. They said there wasn't a body in the plane...

So he died instantly, and yet no body was found...
Two explanations.
Either animals got to it (very messy and leaves a lot of evidence) or he wasn't in the plane when it crashed...
That was not what I was talking about. If you think Obama has an insignificant lead because the Daily Kos said so, you have no concept of critical thinking. My point had nothing to do with polls, and everything to do with the bias of your reference.
The Daily Kos [dailykos.com] has an interesting analysis of the Electoral College votes...From that perspective, Obama has a significant if not insurmountable lead.
Raise your hand if you don't know what agenda the Daily Kos comes from.
Thank you. Recorder, note these names and have these individuals stripped of their voting rights. They are mentally incompetent.
The President has no vote. The VP votes only in a senatorial tie. So this "voting with the white house" line is BS.
Discounting unanimous votes (usually commendations and non-binding resolutions), McCain has voted along the White House's desires about 40% of the time.
Stop repeating verbatim what you hear in campaign ads. It makes you look stupid.
Go climb into a pool yourself and swim a few.
And don't ask me to haul you out when you're drowning and can't make it to the side. Swimming is one of the most demanding sports there is. Besides, they do other things, like lift weights and sprint on dry land.

I do hope he pulls through, he is an amazing man.

Haven't read read the article yet but it does it require doing things differently in drivers or user-land software?
Apparently it is not very confident anymore...
shouldn't that be "At School!"?

Oops. That should read significant...

Weird...
But tnx for the link. Not sure how much credit I give it, but it was interesting.
What is this "mother" you speak of?
Who is beard turns gray?
Because of the way the beam interacts with air, you can see the beam of a green laser...
