    Essentially, it is getting impossible to spend your own money.

    First of all, if you're using a credit card, it's not your money. You're borrowing from someone else. Second, WTF? Companies want to get paid, so spending money is only getting easier. NFCs, RFID keypasses, POS readers everywhere, even the vending machines take credit and debit cards now.

    No, I don't. But if you want to call the police, on your and anyone's phone, just dial emergency. That's available on every phone with no login.

    If these things are ever sold anywhere, by anyone, it will be the first step in a slippery slope by which the phone grabbers will gut the First Amendment right to call anybody I want, any time.

    Whoah, which Constitution are you reading? The one written a hundred+ years before the invention of the phone? You do not have any right to call anyone you want any time you want.

    I agree, training and practice are the issues. Instead of making the debate about "your gun could be taken away and used against you so let's ban them" it should be about "let's increase the training required to buy/own/carry". You'll fund a lot of gun advocates in favor of this approach. And the sword is ceremonial only. Marines and other servicemen do have knives and other weapons though, and have been trained in hand to hand combat as well as using improvised weapons like bootlaces, helmets, etc.

    Weird that we carried guns at all when I was in the Marine Corps then, huh? The enemy might have taken it away from me!

    The odds of your toddler picking up your gun and using it on family or friend are significant - it happens at least several times a week in this country.

    Wow, really? A couple hundred deaths a year from toddlers alone? Please cite a source for that, other than your ass.

    I love talking to people who are adamant that intelligence is not heritable, yet believe in evolution. When I ask how we evolved from presumably less intelligent ape-like ancestors without intelligence being heritable, I can almost see the gears grind to a halt.

    How many birds of you see flying at night anyhow?

    Pretty much none, nighttime being the time when I'm indoors a lot and sleeping. Even when I'm outside, it's DARK. My inability to see birds flying at night should not be an indicator that birds are not flying at night.
