I know, now we are off topic, and this is too late to matter... BUT

The creature commonly called the gloomwing is the adult stage of the tenebrous worm (see below). These huge moths are native to the demi-plane of Shadow. Their bodies and wings are covered with shimmering, geometric patterns of black and silver. They have large, fern-like black antennae tipped with white and eight legs each ending in a pearly claw.
A gloomwing's shimmering markings make it a difficult target. Any creature viewing the moth squarely from above or below must successfully save vs. spells or be confused, as the 4th-level mage spell, for 5-8 (1d4+4) rounds.
Man, I must be old... And why isn't the 2nd edition monsters manual online by now!!!
After reading the PDF (I know it is against/. rules...) I have two questions:
1. Where can I sign up for the US version
2. Can the US integrate out system into theirs??? That would only help to protect us all!!!
I mean, after all, I am looking for all of the following:
1. I want to know that I have the right to be here
2. I want to know who you "really" are
3. I want to join a service that meet my needs
4. I want to be able to prove who I am
P.S. I want to point out my sarcasm, as my last few posts like this labeled me as a troll. Also, it is pointless to resist. Most everyone I know is willing to voluntarily sign up for department and grocery store "point cards" to save ~%5.....
Heck, after 9/11, most people I knew said they were willing to give up thier civil rights in order to protect us from the terrorists... even if they did not know what those rights were...
You don't have to worry to much, as the butterflies only have access to short-wave lasers...
P.S. The Gloom Wing Moth (reference: Page 157 of the AD&D 2nd edition Monster Manual) is something that should bring fear to your adventures!!!!
No, this is simple high school science done right... I bet in your calculations, you forgot to fire the tiger from a tiger sized ballistic cannon!!! Redo your math with the cannon involved, and you will see why he is a scientist and you are not.
P.S. If you are a scientist, you will see why his math was published and yours was not... either way really...
Before I render my highly scientific verdict, I would like to point out that I went to public school, and nearly flunked because I would ignore the teachers and just read the stupid books. Because of this I believe that most "science" is just an assortment of well defined lies that we developed in order to receive government research grants. ; )
Verdict: I say that the hotter a planet, the more likely that it would have a large amount of liquids. After all, a "solid" becomes a liquid at high enough heat. You want an simple example? Here you go... lava is just "liquid" rock!!!!
On the reverse side, ice is just "solid" water! As a matter of fact, Pluto is a solid, but if it was closer to the sun, it would be little more than a large pool of liquid!!!
Now that is science...
P.S. "Scientifically" speaking, all matter, despite its state (solid, liquid, gas, and "maybe" plasma) is nothing but a collection of energy. We have not found anything is which, on a subatomic level, is not composed mostly of nothing. None of the sub-atomic "particles" touch each other (photons, neutrons, and electrons do not touch), so everything, at its base level is simply energy that we interpret as being "solid". Ironically (to me at least) in a world that is completely comprised of energy, we say that there is a finite amount of energy to go around....
P.P.S. (Post Post Script!!!)When it is more on topic, I will rant on the "black matter/energy/big bang theory!!!!
This is currently being posted from a mere Slackware 12 system. I want to know if the Super Hero can configure my box to allow me to read these comics with having to involve the arch nemesis known as Silver Light. Also, if this hero could remove the engineered cyber-plague known as SharePoint, I would be in their debt!!!
"Do we really only perceive biologists as madmen who want to do evil experients for the heck of it?"
IANAS (scientist)
No, but I do see the issue of a biologist performing experiments without knowing the possible long term consequences!
Example A: (This has actually happened)Many supplies of seeds to farmers have created strains of seeds (such as corn) that required certain processes (usually chemical) in order for the seeds to grow into a reproductive plant. They did this in order to "force" the farmers to use their products in the future. While, the direct consequences of this where minimal, the long term effects were not. What was happening is that the pollen would "cross-breed" with existing corn, which prevented the natural corn from continuing the self producing process.
Example B: (This may happen) Scientist (and the FDA) have been indicating that cloned food (animal or plant) has no more inherit risks than non-cloned food. They have studies and many scientist that have backed this "fact"...
BUT, IMHO, this is very short sighted. What happens when cloning really takes off and becomes the "norm"???
A long term consequence could be that, since all of the animals (or plants) share basically the exact same DNA, a plague would kill ALL of the animals (or plants) because they have "no chance" of having a slightly different DNA that would have made them immune or just relegated them to a "carrier" status.
Now these are not much different (if not less likely) to cause an issue than when scientist start inventing DNA stands that have not been found in the "wild"... Mostly because there is no way of knowing exactly what the SHORT term, let alone the LONG term effects could be.
Or is short, one has to wonder "what could possibly go wrong"???
Hmmm... that is kinda catchy... maybe we should label things news items that could have dire, "unforeseen" consequences with that....
I mean come on, I put the page number in it an everything!!!
The Gloomwing Moth's are not feared... but the butterflies have lasers???!!!
Nerds don't have D&D books...
AND Google has already archived this thread before it was posted...
What kind of parallel world is this...

GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
1. The government (on the state level) has previously sold our drivers license info in the past
2. The government can easily request the information from the "private" company... See AT&T
AND the reason for my laughter...
3. I have yet to see anyone read the department store "EULA" agreement, let alone take the company to court.
Paranoia, bad quotes, lazy humor, bad tagging, trolling,THEN sex, and finally, reading the article....

Fry: What's happening?
Dr. Zoidberg: All 6,000 hulls have been breached!
Fry: Oh, the fools! If only they'd built it with 6,001 hulls! When will they learn?

Well, in those days Mercury was a dreary uninhabitable wasteland much like Utah; but unlike Utah, Mars was eventually made livable. -Professor
P.S. It's just a name, like the Death Zone or the Zone of No Return. All the Zones have names like that in the Galaxy of Terror. -Professor Farnsworth
And this guy is lauded as a "computer genius" with insider knowledge!!!
P.S. If you are a scientist, you will see why his math was published and yours was not... either way really...
Do not worry my friend, I have it on good word that Yahoo will offer you a FULL refund on ALL of your basic services!!!
