I had a similar post a few years back. Guess what? I'm still working here and it still sucks. The only thing I can suggest is that if there are other things you are interested in, persue them. But first though, find another job, because you should only work for manipulative jerks if you have to. Then, did you ever want to get a degree in X? Why not go for it? Something else to think about is that there are a lot of health and/or spiritual conditions that can cause you to fill unfulfilled and unmotivated. Could you go workout at the gym or run more? Have you thought about seeing a doctor or other professional about your problems? It is best to work on all of these things, but most of all, start to focus on what makes you and those you love happy. And do it.
While it was a big mistake, and I agree that someone should be fired, I think what they have been offering and would have continued to offer (even if at a higher price) is *much* less of a ripoff than cable and satellite. I've been very pleased with my family quitting cable T.V. and going with OTA T.V. and streaming Netflix and the major T.V. networks recent show via browser. I don't waste time scanning through the cable guide anymore to watch more T.V. than I should have anyway, and we don't have to deal with DVR issues.
Yes, and this site is just another way that activist voices can promote their causes. If everyone was allowed to vote on whether a white house team should be set up to focus on shutting down puppy mills, I seriously doubt that it would be the majority opinion to focus on that. That should be a local not a federal concern, even though I love dogs, especially puppies.
More realistically: (1) If you increase capital gains taxes, you reduce the incentive for people to trade in the market, and if people pull all of their money out of the markets prior to the tax increase- well, if you think we have problems now, just wait... (2) If the leader of the U.S. economy can't figure this out, why do we think we can, and (3) oh screw it, 50% of you just stopped reading anyway.
How about we just do away with taxes completely and privatize all government functions? If you don't mind causing turmoil by screwing with our tenuous economy by raising taxes that limit trading, you might as well just cause complete anarchy right from the start by shutting down government completely and seeing what happens. I think that either some moral form of libertarianism (severely limit government) or moderation/centrism (stop changing things) is what our country and our world needs right now. I'm done with this sort of discussion.

Faith may not be rational, but that doesn't mean you can't have it.
Buy two USB externals. Backup to both, encrypting it if you wish. Take one offsite and store it in a locked file cabinet. This is more secure than over-the-wire sync'ing.
As an aside- I spent days trying to get a firmware upgrading ISO to load in Linux via thumbdrive on a netbook and eventually gave up and bought an external USB DVD/CD combo drive. Sometimes it just isn't worth it. It is one thing if you are trying to install a Linux distro or do a live USB version of a distro, but another if you have a custom ISO.
But, this is great news- something that Windows should have had long ago. Even though Virtual Clone Drive is free, so it really isn't that important.

If I want a picture of f-n Ireland, I want it recent and zoomable, as big as the redheaded noogin on my 12 year old so I can oogle the Irish drinkin their Guinesses no earlier than yesterday.
If it ain' Scottish, it's crap!
There could be valid reasons other than throttling certain sites that would be incorrectly covered by that statement.
What if the government could regulate internet traffic as a public utility (like electricity) and not involve the FCC?
That wasn't a mistake, that was just a targetted emergency call- part of some A/B testing.
Michael Palin
There. Fixed it for you.

BAD advice. Get another job, THEN leave.
Why? Because he's good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, people like him.
The man knows all and sees all and sh*t my Dad says ran too short.
In Aliens 2, the marines rode in a pretty slow spaceship, well, compared to Star Trek. That is the future. Slow space harriers.

hes has no principals.
That is because he's not in school anymore.
why use the net? I mean seriously- there are satellites and VW bugs watching our house.
That isn't a bug, it's a feature. It works that way by design!
That's not a priority fight coming, it is old tyme bicycle coming, with a stick figure riding on it, pointing his finger to the future:

A priority fight would like like this:

Just wanted to set that straight.

That is all I did in 5th grade which was the only time I got to program at school, on an Apple II+/IIe

Just write code that works, damnit.
I burned some supposedly high quality mp3s from Amazon and it still sounds like crap on my CD player.
If I pay for it, it better be as good as listening to a CD when I burn it to CD.
People wonder why p2p is such a problem. Hmm. Tough to figure out.
Master recording -> FLAC, please!
But, subscription music has and will be where it is at, not buying specific songs, which is sooo January 8, 2001.

Sorry I couldn't hear you... I was listening to drugs.
