Also, the android market place is pretty horrible compared to the apple app store. Discovery sucks, sales are low, etc. Even some of the popular iPhone apps ported to Android aren't selling but a handful of copies. Hell, some of the best apps on the Android can't even be found without specifically searching for it.
That being said, the hardware itself is much, much better. The screen is absolutely stunning, the web browser is much faster and thus more usable. Multitasking: 'nuff said. Best of all, I can decide what software to put on the hardware I paid for (including those I wrote myself without having to sacrifice my first born at the altar of Steve Jobs).

I bought a laptop that came with Vista preinstalled. I was going to make an honest effort, despite the fact that it seems to be considerably slower than XP (and I don't see how you could possibly think otherwise). However, I quickly found out that the operating system that the damned hardware came with did not work properly with the hardware. After researching the issue, it appeared to be a poorly written driver and after hours of trying various versions of the driver, including the XP driver which supposedly did work, and trying various strange options and registry hacks suggested by Microsoft, it became apparent that the only way to use my wireless card would be to use a different operating system.
Getting Windows XP on the laptop turned out to be more difficult than it should have been (which seems to be the case on newer hardware these days), but it runs flawlessly with full support for all of my hardware. I also threw Ubuntu on it half expecting most of the hardware to be unsupported or difficult to get to work properly, but everything worked fine, including the wireless card I was having issues with.
It's kind of a shame too, I really like the look and feel of Vista, and aside from performance and driver issues, it seems like they finally got quite a few things right in this version of Windows.
One of blizzard's bigger problems with World of Warcraft is the fact that they broke one of the major rules of network computing: they decided to trust the client. This opens up all sorts of possibilities for exploits and issues that aren't even directly related to exploits, such as network latency making players jump across the screen and impossible to target.
I'm not sure why your experience is so vastly different (maybe different colleges?), but I don't know what to say other than that has simply not been my experience. It's true that some of the TA's have a very difficult time with English, but I've personally never had an issue not being able to understand the point they're getting across. Besides, it's supplemental to the core curriculum that is taught by the professors in lecture anyhow, which, along with some independant reading has never been an issue for me to learn.
I've never known anyone to cheat on any exams, and I've personally never considered it an option given the VERY severe consequences. I don't party all the time and I have learned a lot. All I can say is that I'm sorry your experience wasn't the same.
In any case, I think a lot of college is learning to be able to learn a subject without someone holding your hand along the way. Learning the material is up to you, and having a professor who is by the highest standards very knowledgeable in his subject is more than what you need to get a very high quality education.
As a side note, I can see where you might have that point of view as a liberal arts student, but I still hold firmly to the belief that the engineering department is of the highest academic standards of integrity.

The Electrical Engineering department of the University of Texas at Austin is consistently ranked in the top ten in the country, and has a beautiful campus with modern facilities. The professors I've had are profoundly knowledgeable and some of the top researchers in the field. The physics department at UT might possibly be taking the contract to Los Alamos lab; my physics professor would be in charge of roughly 10% of the lab and is currently building one of the largest (or the largest?) lasers in the world underneath the RLM tower.
The TA's do a wonderful job of breaking down the rather complex and difficult material the professors lecture over into a form that's slightly more comprehensible. Most of mine have been more than helpful and have been an invaluable tool in learning the difficult electrical engineering curriculum.
It's right in the middle of a progressive, modern city (just to drop all stereotypes of TX before any ill-informed comments are made) with a very unique and diverse culture. The city is filled with young, attractive people (yes, some geeks enjoy girls too) who know how to have a good time. 6th street is like Texas's Bourbon Street.
I pay nothing for tuition due to financial aid and scholarships, and have a significant amount of my living expenses paid to boot. Remind me; what I'm missing by not going to a private school?
This is just one example of a fine academic institution that is publically funded. There are many more out there, I'm pretty confident in that. The UC system and Georgia Tech come to mind.

It's right in the middle of a progressive, modern city (just to drop all stereotypes of TX before any ill-informed comments are made) with a very unique and diverse culture. The city is filled with young, attractive people (yes, some geeks enjoy girls too) who know how to have a good time. 6th street is like Texas's Bourbon Street.
I pay nothing for tuition due to financial aid and scholarships, and have a significant amount of my living expenses paid to boot. Remind me; what I'm missing by not going to a private school?
This is just one example of a fine academic institution that is publically funded. There are many more out there, I'm pretty confident in that. The UC system and Georgia Tech come to mind.
This isn't to say all state schools are great, but people come on. Please stop making generalizations about public universities and stop looking down your noses at people who attend them.
Maybe because you can prove a negative? The same argument is used by theists, and it gets old to say the least. So please stop deluding yourself by the thought that your ineloquant and childish quips should ever garner any kind of respect from anyone, even in the exceedingly high improbability that anything you've said might have some shade of truth.
