I'm totally sorry I don't make purchasing decisions based on your experiences and opinions. It's terribly self-centered of me to consider my own thoughts ahead of yours on matters that have no effect on you.
Of course it would help if I could distinguish you from about 7 billion other people' but I can't. Until that's rectified, I'm afraid you don't count.
I've had an iPhone since near the beginning, but it's far from the One True Phone - especially when it first came out, because it was totally gimped at that time. Maybe you're not remembering clearly, or maybe you did the jailbreaking. Either way, the first iPhone wasn't anything like king of the hill in all measures. It was barely adequate in a bunch of ways.
What it does have is an awesome interface, but while I certainly believe the interface is important, I don't believe it to be the end-all. Hell, there are many people who don't care in the least.
There's a big difference between "the ones I don't watch anyway" and "the ones nobody watches anyway."
As a Slashdotter you should very careful trying to apply your tastes to the population at large, because it's extremely likely you're nowhere near the norm in that regard.
The PS1 analog controller was a response to the N64 controller, just like the Dual Shock was a response to the Rumble Pak. Sony's entire gaming history is basically waiting for Nintendo to come up with something, then taking it for themselves and relying on marketing.
Everybody took those ideas from general computers. I think the point is that Nintendo innovates in the game space, where they basically dominate so far as this particular facet of their company is concerned. Now if only the Wii had something worth playing...
Seeing technology as an investment is the first problem with your attitude. I know that historical performance doesn't dictate the future, but technology has never increased in value over time so it would be foolish in the extreme to expect it.
Aww, the poor reality-isolated fanboys threw me a flamebait mod.
I'm not the one who copied the Windows 7 taskbar into the Snow Leopard dock. Don't get upset with me. It wasn't me "starting my photocopier."
Face it, fanboys - Apple thrives on the adversarial mentality. They can't promote themselves on merit because they have exactly the same shit as everyone else, give or take some details.
And I own several Apple products. This isn't just some blind bullshit I'm throwing out here. I'm just not susceptible to the marketing. I don't believe owning a Mac makes me better than a Windows user, no matter how badly Steve Jobs wants me to feel that way.
Yeah, except the copy-and-paste is coming in a firmware upgrade available to all iPhone users. There are lots of reasons to bash the iPhone, go pick one that doesn't only live in your head next time.
Smart choice staying anonymous, because in truth nothing says loser quite like being snotty about being good at video games.
Are you under the impression this is a new game? If so, you are wrong.

You make some fairly sweeping claims with no backing whatsoever. Care to elaborate in support of your beliefs?
Who said all? I just said extremely likely. As it happens, I'm a big sports watcher myself, which drives my nerd friends nuts.
My point still stands.
All success must be punished proportionally, right, comrade?
Apparently you took the It's a Small World ride at Disney a little too literally. It's actually pretty freakin big.

Only game in what town? Last I checked, there are hundreds if not thousands of different cell phones available.
Out of curiosity, are you prevented from moving out of your county from anything more than inconvenience?

All I gotta say is if you don't know the difference between skinless and naked, you are NOT dating my sister.
The news media is an entertainment media myth.
Maybe you weren't aware, but Johnny Lee has been working on Natal.
So that's where it is, chief.
It is whatever the user thinks it is, no matter what you think of it.
It's interesting how some people are seemingly offended by other people enjoying their phone purchase. Why be bothered by what other people do?
I can't imagine why developers like to get paid. They should learn to eat the happiness that comes with knowing people are enjoying their work.

Here's a shocker for you - not everyone is interested in performing copyright infringement. Shocking, I know.
Do you wanna go breaking out an argument about downloading Linux distros to your phone now?
Apple lives on cockiness and fanboy hive-mind reality isolation. Did you expect any different?
"Could have" is a meaningless phrase when discussing historical events. What did happen is that everyone survived, which destroys your point entirely.
No, you're just getting older.
