    That's not a whoosh, it's just a joke-killer. Not that I've ever understood the humor in quoting movies - it seems more like a feel-good "yay, we share the same taste in entertainment" type of laughter. It sure as hell isn't funny in the general sense.

    This started with the cult of the DJ. Once it became acceptable to be considered a musician for playing other people's records, the floodgates were opened. Now just cutting other people's work up and rearranging it is considered "creative."

    No, it still doesn't make any sense. Going out in public dressed in a way that shows off the titties means that someone else may damn well be looking the whole time. Too bad. The black gown is the only reasonable solution, because if you expect me to avert my eyes, you're gonna have to commit some violence to make it happen, and that is very quickly going to get out of hand.

    I have a silly question for all you anti-Mac people: why are you so offended that people would choose to buy from Apple? What is it about that company that makes you rabidly deride anyone who exercised their personal choice to buy a computer they desired, for whatever reason? How does it hurt you? I have to assume it hurts you, because the derision is so very strong and often personal (for an anonymous interaction, anyway.)

    Is it something as simple as your belief that your opinion is somehow more correct? Could it really be something that wrong?

    Any feature added to computers since 1978 is bad. Anything that allows normal humans who haven't dedicated their lives to understanding the machine to use a computer is evil. The interface was perfected when it was arcane and required years of study to use effectively. Everything since then is simply a conspiracy between Intel and Microsoft to make money.
