Numerous fields of human endeavor kill, maim, or cripple far more animals and humans, to far less benefit, than science, and somehow get away with less scrutiny and opposition. Why is science the target?

Because science is (for the most part) open and honest. The things you talk about aren't, or are for our "security".

Think about it: by creating a myth about climate change you are creating thousands of jobs, gradually losing your dependence on foreign countries' oil, and encouraging ingenuity. Not to mention a crap-load of excuses for tax. It's a smart little scam, I must admit. I think the only reason why America took so long to change was because of them having so many lobbyists from the fossil-fuel brigade.

And the windows retards can do the same for windows posts. But you see, the windows retards know not to hang round here, because we'll drown them in all the money we save. Also, they are retards, and can't figure out the UI/read/etc.

For God's sake, what is so wrong about twitter? I use it daily as a webdesigner to keep up with the latest trends. Designers and developers can chat with the pros on a totally non-professional level. People can use it to communicate, such as these Iranians have been doing before being "filtered" (censored). I just think it's really sad how people are having their rights abused and downright taken away from them, and all you can think about is how supposedly bad Twitter is. Get a grip, please.

I installed virtualbox, copied the old config directory, it said "virtualbox has detected some old images blah blah blah, do you want to upgrade the files", I clicked yes, in less than a second I was running the image. Job done.

So as you can see, Virtualbox seems to be very good at ensuring that the images will still work even after an upgrade.
