    Well, personally I use every single computer I have, I mean, you can even make a beowulf cluster with a bunch of old 386s and make it into a nice 'supercomputer'! :)

    This seems like a good initiative, enviroment wise. I believe the country where I reside has a similar recycle tax, but for cars.
    Well, it beats dumping all the trash in China!

    Doesn't humanity do that anytime all the time? I don't think I missed the point of the movie, but I personally find it more offending that as recently as the early 1900s actual human beings were still commenly used as slaves.

    After seeing Blade Runner a few times I don't really see what's so good about it. Am I missing something about the movie? Is there some hidden plotline? Or is it just wrong of me to think that just 'cause it's about androids, doesn't mean it's a good movie?

    So, when do we get to see anitmatter powered stuff? Should be good to power a decent size beowulf cluster for some time. Or space travel. Or to some any energy crisis at hand. Or replace nuclear power stations, and whatever filthy mannter or producing energy us puny earthlings use.

    This is where you're wrong. Virus is a Latin word, and as such is written as Virii when you're talking about multiple virii. Virusses is partly english, but virii is actually better. Know your Latin, dude!

    I think it would be so send packets to certain ports just to get a reply, or lack thereof. But that would actually be pretty hard to prove, a scanner cuold just send HTTP request packets, and the scanner could claim he was just browsing and typing in a portnumber, or that happening for some strange reason, probably wouldn't hold any ground in court though.. but it's quite hard to define what a portscan is, if the scanner/attacker actually tries to hide it..
