I bet over 2/3 of americans either a. don't know that this is going on or b. don't care. Even if people actually gave a damn we tend to not take any action.
THE PAIN JUST KEEPS coming for Nvidia, this time in the partner space. Two of their key 'alpha' partners have just defected.
It is nearly impossible to make money selling Nvidia cards right now, NV squeezed partners margins too much, and when the going got rough, prioritised its own margins over partner survival. This gave partners the choice of popping like a zit financially or moving to less green pastures.
Like Gainward before them, two of the largest ones, XFX and EVGA have defected. Want to bet Nvidia doesn't know yet? In any case, partners leaving a company like rats leaving a sinking ship is never a good sign, lets see what happens in the coming months when the pain really piles on at NV.
The really interesting part is who they defected to, and it isn't ATI. Paperwork has been signed though, and it is a done deal.
I mean seriously how can anyone be more offtopic then this. Do these people just copy and paste random jiberish? I mean who are these people...
Now that they gave out my private information to another company without my consent i can now sue google and become rich...I pitty the suckers that bought stock in google.
You must be new here. I'd like to welcome you to the wonderful world of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act
There's a reason "freedom of the press" is in the first amendment, look at the old Soviet Union or the current China, when the government can shut down any media they want you're well on the way to fascism.
And why would our government want to shut down their own propaganda machines (ie cnn, fox news, cbs, etc....) we are already at that point where media outlets are owned by a few powerfull business men with ties to washington.
Well, yeah. That is the point of the "story" though. The suggestion is that all P2P traffic will be blocked to protect the copyrights--which will, of course, hurt legitimate uses of the technology.
my appologies what I was saying is that the politicians don't get that P2P has more uses than just for music and movie downloads.
P2P isn't just about illegal file sharing, it's bigger than that. The way we download linux distros, the way we download game updates, hell even Pure Pwnage distributes their videos using P2P methods. I really think they are missing the point of how this technology has made an impact on how we get our content from the internet. If this passes they might as well ban people from driving cars because they can be used to traffic illegal drugs.
All 3C351's Represent!!!!!!! Seriously though this is actually my job in the air force (we do project management all the way up to program management at headquarters level. If you do decide to go this route i would highly recommend joining the air force. You will see a variety of projects for example one could be providing comm to a new building, then the next one you could get could be a full air traffic control tower renovation (my buddy actualy managed a project like this). Honestly if you love working and managing people this is your job, but if your like me and hate working with people i would stay away from this route.
as a project manager I am offended. You don't realise that without us the projects would finish on time, and be tested properly. I mean really what would the world be without a project manager...
So, there's a chance here, in this brief window of opportunity, to drum up proper opposition to this bill. I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt deeply hurt by Obama not really opposing this bill. Perhaps now's a good chance to get him to show us that he's a candidate of change we can actually believe in?
Don't get your hopes up on that. The big telecos already have the senators in their pockets. Now maybe if all of us/.'ers put our money together we can stop this evil force...
I'm a Comm project manager for the air force (3C351) and let me tell ya with the way the military operates we are the unnecessary middle man in the process...truly truly a shitty job
This is like spouting "Money is the root of all evil" without bothering to ask what the root of money is. Pure stupidity on your part. Money is simply productivity in paper form. I work and get pieces of paper that say I have been productive, and exchange those pieces of paper for others' productivity. Man I must be really productive making all those rap videos with big booty hoes, and all my bling, and sellin them bricks...
U.S. Army soldier, as an optional replacement for the Common Access Card - they get filled with vaccinations and all kinds of other stuff today, and are essentially treated as paid property of Uncle Sam.
Incase you didn't already know our CAC cards are property of the US Government (it even says it right on the ID). Also our CAC cards are dual purpose first of which is being able to log on to the network with a pin, second is that its used as a Geneva Conventions ID card. Anyhow the government already owns us:(
After the disaster that has been Windows Vista Vista is the 2nd most used OS in the world for desktop PCs and laptops; I wonder how you would quantify it being a disaster (the fact you might dislike it not counting of course). You could claim it's not the most popular Windows to have come out, but disaster it is not. Money talks, bullshit walks, as they say. I'm calling FUD on this considering how popular OSX is and how many poorer countries use Linux

After flying on Lufthansa i can safely say that the american airline companies can learn a lesson or two from them.
so then whats the law for soviet russia, because that gets brought up on /. almost on a daily basis...
First comment :)
Oh come on everyone knows that the only real jesus was RAPTOR JESUS!!!

First thing I read was "Hardon Collider"
Muahaha! I can't believe no one made that joke before!
Oh wait..
Man just thinking about all the black holes i could make with this machine gives me a hardon...
I firmly believe that any immunity for the telecos is too much immunity.
