I bought a PS3 for its blu-ray capability last week. Movies? Sign me up! Games? All the really good titles are multi-platform and done better on the 360. It's all about the achivements and XBox live. The graphics are the same for both so that point is moot. Unless the PS3 gets a great exclusive (and they're going to have to do better than Resistance, Motorstorm, Rachet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma) it's just a movie player to me.
The PS3 needs its own Dead Rising, Mass Effect, Super Mario Galaxies, or Metroid Prime 3.
Further, this is a social world. I'm afraid that you'll either have to learn to live with the fact that some people have offspring and choose to eat in nice restaurants, or stop eating at restaurants that allow children.
I do think you will find that an unappealing proposition, however. The restaurant business is one with paper thin margins, to offset the loss of a large family customer base the establishment must raise their prices to dizzying highs.

Speaking of which, how is it they found Saddam Hussein in a couple of months but they can't find Osama seven years later?
The man in Washington says it's for the poor. That's the key in all three of Ryan's statements. Not only are all three groups taking money, they are also lying about the reason!
Nay, I say. To me that part of the movie was moving because of the wonderful character exposition and development up to that point. It actually took me a few seconds during the film to realize that Rob was putting on a brave front and *pretending that his brother was still alive* for his mother. Choked me right up.
Dude, "Offworld Offroad Mining Survey Action Racer" is one of my favorite games within Mass Effect. I love it! Every peak is a fun challenge.
I spent thirty minutes last night running (sans Mako!) from one edge of the map to the other on a windy, red planet just because it was awesome. I felt like a character in "Red Mars".
Microsoft has chosen to back HD-DVD, and there is supposed to be an HD-DVD player add on for the Xbox 360. But because it is an add on, there is not a great deal of incentive to buy it.
Says who? In my immediate family we have three of the XBox360 HD DVD players. They work great, save the hassle of another AV connection into the home theater, and were at the time of purchase the cheapest HD-DVD players on the market. FTW!
You know that you too can ride the brakes while in gear right? Right?
Also, you're the one who should be leaving huge gaps in front. That way you can drive appropriately up to the car in front, then stop and wait for them to get a reasonable distance away and do it again.
Either shift in and out of gear or keep it in 2nd, which should be able to handle 3-20 mph. If you are *really* going a constant 3mph then first gear is your ticket, just be gentle on the gas.
Mythbusters is *entertainment*, not science! While their antics are somewhat entertaining, they are just that: antics. There is no rigor, no carefully thoughtout experiments, no theory, and no reasoning. While they may prove something empirically (and some of their questions lend themselves well to this) their methods make it impossible to generalize to answer the question with authority.
Huh. I can name more than a couple of the 'implementors' of Infocom. I remember when Origin was making kickass games (Autoduel, FTW), when Lucasarts made clever games, when Apogee and iD brought us awesomeness via shareware, but I've never heard of Gamecock or this 'Gathering of Developers'.

You, sir, horribly abuse the humble ellipsis.

Because he's dead and they know it.
Name one (just one!) A-list game in which gameplay has taken a back seat to graphics.
There have always been crappy games, there will always be crappy games, but graphics has never superceded fun!
Good lord!

Thanks for removing some competition for jobs in the computer industry for my kid.
Maybe it was too highbrow for them.

Geez, jealous much? What standards has CmdrTaco ever said he expected?
For the record, I loved the movie and liked the review; but who cares? That's the beauty of the public forum, eh?
Nope, gotta move it by hand.

No much problems with my mighty mouse so far. Maybe you should wash your hands a little more often?
Same here. My older brother sat me down in front of an Atari version of Zork in the early 80s and taught me how to move around and make a map.
I was hooked when I figured out 'move rug'
This is slashdot, not digg or reddit. I do proofread.
Truckers already have an automated system for interstate driving. A trucker friend of mine can play playstation 2 in his cab while it drives!

Obviously Negroponte has never dealt with picking up cable channels with an antenna.

Too large? I'd be curious to get your take on the iLiad.
8.1 inches at 768x1024 FTW!
