  1. Actually that is not true in every part of the world. Imagine if there existed a way to change the way the police works in your society, wouldn't that be wonderful?

  4. Oh, and we do the same with our daycare, eldercare and hostpitals (imagine not to have to pay a penny if you get cancer or break your leg etc..)

  5. you could start adopting our horrible, horrible "socialist program", used in northern Europe ;-)

    You get tuition for free.

    As in: It is in the interest of the whole society to have a well educated population, so everybody contributes through the taxes to pay so anybody can get free education.

    Oh, by the way. We actually also pay our students a low basic income while they attend high school and after that for 5 years of university.

    It has been like this the last 50 years or so.

  6. In northern Europe we enjoy both net neutrality and very high internet speeds. USA is still lagging far behind the modern world :D It is really comically, when you think about it: A large super power, but can't even get its act together at make proper interned speed :D

    1. 1. I know that already.
    2. 2. If I forget, I will visit the site again.
    3. 3. If i recognise the site I will enforce my memory to remember that I have already been here.
    4. 4. If not any of above I will have a new experience.

  13. Why do you always see the fucking error as you press submit?

    Simple ideas for solutions:

    • Make the Submit button have a delay before actually sumbitting, where a countdown 3..2..1 appears beside a cancel button
    • Make it possible to edit your comments when not AC

    In Europe ISPs are not having problems at all with providing net neutrality.
    Data packets must be very expensive in the states ;)

    - or it could just be that ISPs in the states are more greedy ;)

    The test is still running as planned and will end after two years - as planned.
    After that they will evaluate the result.

    It has specifically not been concluded yet if the test is going well or not,

    Thanks. This article was exactly what I had in memory for reference to the problems with openstreetmap. I believe those problems can be solved with the right people and the right actions. In the meantime I still contribute to openstreetmap :)

    I am a contributor to openstreetmap. It was very simple to become one - just sign up, get a login and you are good to go. openstreetmap is in some ways really wonderful, but still have some drawbacks which need to be solved, which become obvious when you begin reading the discussions behind the project.

    At worst the current surveys only shows in which language programmers do most copy-paste code.
