Let's just ignore the fact that Pearl Harbor was a military target and if our carriers were there that strike would have successfully crippled the ability of America to operate in the Pacific. Oh, and the fact that every other power was already at war and there were previous alliances between those powers. And that Pearl Harbor was stuck by a recognized and uniformed military force. Oh, one last thing, WWII was the last war we fought. They actually bothered to declare war for that one.
The Lusitania, The Maine, The Alamo, etc., etc. are what got popular support into the war.
9/11, on the other hand, was a non-military target struck by an unrecognized, non-uniformed and non-state actor. Hence the vague "war" on terror since they don't actually have someone they can declare war against (not that anyone would ever take the political risk of declaring war these days, what if we lost? Just think how that would look on your voting record.).
And American cities are known and valued for their great libraries and highly educated and motivated young adults.
For as much as you rail against teachers you'd think the kids were even going to school regularly in the first place. Hard for teachers to have an effect, good or bad, if the kids aren't in school.
If the parents are spending those 1-2 hours teaching their kids that "dat edumacashun thang" isn't worthwhile it won't matter what a teacher tries to accomplish in their 6-8 hours.
In honor of all the poor, selfless people who jailbroke their iPhones and are now rotting away in a real jail. Given how tyrannical Apple is there must millions of martyrs locked away. But finally their sacrifices have born fruit and we should, nay, *must* honor them all.
If Sony was able to buy out HD-DVD then HD-DVD was on the market and that market decided the winner. It just wasn't the specific market that you wanted to decide the winner.
If Apple wanted OS X on non-Apple hardware they'd be selling it for non-Apple hardware at a pricepoint of their choosing.
Why Apple would want to run OS X on $DIETY knows what hardware configurations and get all the hassle that MS has on top of not selling their hardware is beyond me.
So he just loaned it out for a payment of a few thousand dollars and then was going to right back to the bar and return it. I've got this nice bridge for sale. Only used by a little old lady who never drives over 35 mph and she only used it to go to church on Sunday.
Are there still glaciers covering North America?
That one seems pretty obvious and undeniable. Though it doesn't give the AGW crowd much ammunition unless they are going to blame it on mammoth SUVs.

Half the battery life, twice the thickness, half a pound heavier. Clearly superior.
The *new* market for tablets selected for (combinations of) traits that existing tablets didn't have.
./, where (willful or feigned) ignorance is insightful.
It's the Magic Trackpad, not the "Magical" Trackpad.
It'd set a better example if Taco would stop trolling every Apple article.
It's good that there aren't any linux, err, GNU/Linux (peace be upon RMS and his beard) zealots that fit the same bill.
It's an Apple article posted by Taco, when is it not going to be trolling?
Bricked is the new "literally".

Classy.
I think Boston's been through enough at the hands of the mooninites.
Ya, seashells and other bits of stuff you pick out of the ground are a vastly superior currency.

Seems to be that someone is still a little bitter about how that Nomad comparison turned out.
The same thing that restricted developers from putting ads in their paid-for apps before iAd.
Except that polit-zombies would go "Briiiiiibes! Briiiiiiibes!"
Informative? Really? How is who is doing what to whose sexual organs rate informative?
Apple fanbois may drink the koolaid but Google fanbois eat up the propaganda. Err, "facts".
Everyone knows that there's a world wide conspiracy of the inferior Applish phones intent on destroying the purity of the Googlyan line.
"The Applish always do this." "The Applish always say that." "The Applish are an inferior phone in all ways."
That's why the unsubsidized model is actually cheaper in the end, no contract to deal with.
Mice will never catch on. Now please excuse me while I fish the cursor from my slide rule out of this mechanical relay.
Ridiculous? THIS! IS! SLASHDOT!
Filter error: Don't use so many caps. It's like not like this is Sparta.
