Oh, no.... I'm NOT hiding it. I throw in a mix of things they know I'm doing, and since they're smart a few things they don't yet know I'm doing. They'll eventually figure it out. They're 9 and 11 now. I periodically check their history and I'm surprised they haven't figured that one out yet. Once they start to get savvy I'll put in a transparent proxy, change the default gateway to that and have the firewall block access to anything BUT the proxy.
I do this because it's the only decent way to be successful on the non-windows devices, ipods, kindle, wii...
I use teamviewer. Free for personal use. Does what you need.
Drive my kids nuts when they're on the computer and Daddy randomly connect to see what the heck they're doing. Keeps them on their toes and off questionable sites. With the help of opendns... I'll eventually put in a proxy when they get older though. Preserving what innocence I can...
We saw well how a series of pumps and dams worked for New Orleans during Katrina. Just fill in the bay. Then you can get rid that ugly eyesore of a bridge and have lots of new land to populate.
Actually, I don't really like SF to begin with, so let it flood.
You my friend have reached the "golden age" in IT. I can tell so by your sub 1m UID. CouchDB is only arcane to old farts who no longer understand the things the younger crowd finds as "in"
We're from the days when MySQL was getting stored procedures, UDFs and views. That's all old hat. Now databases have Couches, and probably ottomans and coffee tables as well.
Embrace your golden years and die out quietly like the rest of us....:)
In light of the IRS making Star Trek training videos I really don't see any problem with digging into all Government entities searching for waste. Glad they didn't find it here, but I'm also glad the checked.
I've hired plenty of people who HAVE or HAD an A+ but the point is, once you get past that applying for level 1 service desk, drop A+. That's I'm at Director level in my career now, there are tons of skills I used to list on my resume but don't any longer. I also don't list my high school info either.
Not sure who's rating this down but I agree with it. A+ screams geeksquad. We look at A+ as people who have low expectations in life. It's a pretty poor way to look at it, but that's life.
The first one I used was not a very good experience. We went to the store and purchased a parallel port zip drive. We opened the documentation and read the instructions how to set up the parallel port zip drive. We spent too much time on trying to make it work. Then I noticed the little dial on the back with numbers 5-6 on it.
I think you must be me. I would have posted the same thing.
The bad thing about it, when I was downloading said 60+ floppies on a modem, I didn't quite have enough disks... so I had to create 1-40, then once I used #1 I recycled it to 41...
The sucky part was the setup didn't tell you that you wouldn't end up using all the disks depending on what you chose to install, so a lot of them were skipped.
I agree, THIS was cruel and unusual. There are many more common sense ways to get this done.
Use the drugs we use in surgery to put the guy out then in order of how I'd want to go...
Morphine OD
Heroine OD
Cyanide
Guillotine
Firing Squad
Electric Chair
Heck, with the first two we don't have to sedate first... We just sedate them to death.
I think they MUST have meant $29.99. There's no way that the router is going to be worth $300. I remember buying my WRT around $70.

Nice to meet you fellow 4...
I'm 37...
I'm 37. Using your logic does my UID match?
Btw, I don't program any longer, at least not for my job. Moved to upper management...
Yeah, I'm about sick of those right now.
I said it's a young MAN's sport. I'm going to go out on a limb and say your mother isn't a MAN.
Bah, people with pacemakers don't steal cars! That's a young man's sport!
And yes, now I want to see this at 90MPH.
Does it carry it's own fire retardant? ;)
I'd say the actual number is somewhere like 75% do it, while maybe 50% do it while in motion.
Or you could be like me, I'm playing games arcade games on my ipad while driving.

And Get Off My Lawn!

Turns out they had boxed a scsi zip drive in a parallel port box. Since they were both 25pin everything connected just fine.

wow, those things actually came out in 1983!
And worse, I remember them!
SuperDuperSpeed USB?
Bah, 24MB cameras are cheap these days. Lay out a 3x3 grid of your CDs (shiny side up) and take a pic. You may need to backlight them though.

I second this. We're going to be homeschooling our kids next year and there are some courses here we're going to integrate into the curriculum.
1970? That's not old.
