I think their point is that seeing the movie produced more violent reactions than actually portrayed in the Hulk film, though mostly of the "involuntary convulsing of stomach muscles normally associated with vomiting" variety.
While I agree with your first paragraph, I think the point of these contests is not the outcome but rather the process by which the computers are taught to analyze. These help to push the study of both computer and human thought.
Arguably, Chess jumped the shark in 1972 in Iceland.

Actually, the song is called "The Fishin' Hole", lyrics to which can be found here or here (non-whistling MIDI here)....though I think your versions might just be the more popular in the long run.:)
