Trying this drug would be great so long as on a whole antibiotics were more regulated. There was a superbug outbreak at the hospital where i used to live and doctors still throw them at everything. Maybe if we took that enormous amount of money consumed prosecuting recreational drug users and put it toward medicine, we wouldn't be so worried

This also makes them great as a medium for titanic ps3 games. For movies though it seems like nitpicking for the benefits.

This is to be expected from free mail providers. If you want quality service, including people that police spammers and watch their systems, then you obviously pay for the higher-quality email service. Regards,

What can i say, Google gives me 7 gigs of space for my account, the most popular local ISP gives 100 megs, and this crappy service. Actually gmail is the only email client i've dealt with recently that isn't hell and a half to support. the anti spam service has been near perfect until now as well on all 3 of my accounts. :D

And saying thats its a budget service is just plain uneducated. its funded (quite generously, I might add) by the discreet, context sensitive ads you will find on the side of the page, as opposed to part of your internet subscription.

I'm happy that people are starting to get upset about this. The 3 major telecom companies in Canada have a pretty sick monopoly on the internet and cellular business. We need to get someone new here-and not just another puppet company that leases their towers from Bell, Rogers, or Telus. We need someone whose bottom line is not influenced by these crooks. Heck, we need as many of them as we can get.

Unfortunately that involves finding someone who wants to invest in building towers across some of the largest stretches of untamed wilderness in the world to service one of the world's sparsest population densities...hmm.

I worked at an apple store when those mbp's rolled out. I was going to trade in my core duo mbp but after some research found out about this issue and witnessed it first hand-its a pretty big difference, especially in the reds-initially it was passed off as a firmware bug (and technically it was-the screens weren't dithering, but even after the fact there was a visible difference). I was pretty pissed/baffled that apple would (out of all their computer models) pull this on their high end laptops often bought by creative pros and students. I mean come ON, of all the things to cheap out on, and of all the hardware apple sells, this had to be the stupidest, most negatively impacting choice. if they cheaped out on the already scuzzy macbook screens no one would notice, but they picked the photographers laptop of choice. If they released those laptops on april fools day it would be the most epic (and expensive) prank ever-but really they were just being cheap wads. Thank you apple for proving to me that even you are not above being cheap, stupid wads once in awhile. D:!

As much as i like apples OS(mind you I'm still using Tiger) and products, I guess I'll have to go back to trusting no one who stands to make money off of me.

  23. duh on Augmenting Data Beats Better Algorithms · · Score: 0, Flamebait

From a designer-with-rudimentary-programming-abilities point of view, logic would dictate that having more data would always make sorting easier,I mean, digging through 10,000 results based on one piece of information will always be slower than if we have 2 more sets of data that bring the search pool down to 10. A clever 10 year old could tell you that. Can't this be ruled to common sense?

The only way the better algorithm would win out is if the extra data is moot and can't shrink the search pool by any meaningful amount eg.
