I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you. I've got several vintage systems hooked up in my hobby room and it's very nice to fire up some of my old favorite games. Besides it's a hoot seeing my Amiga 1000 boot up on my HDTV:)
"runaway extremist, anti profit, tree huggers prohibiting growth and taxing everyone to death" I suppose you'd rather have air so thick you could chew it eh? L.A. has 4 times the number of automobiles that it had in the 1970's but only half the air pollution. Thanks to those "extremist tree-huggers"
I disagree...and in fact the OLPC is designed with easily user-replacable parts. I doubt you could show me a 4-5 year old laptop that a 10 year old could fix by themselves.
Only takes one. And by the way, how do you define "middle-eastern looking?" Olive complexion? Beard? Going to hassle anyone who isn't blonde-haired and blue-eyed and might be stressed about flying?
Where do you get your $3k figure from? A default Mac Pro with dual Xeons, a gig of RAM, 250 GB HD and a GeForce 7300 GT is only $2,499 and there are far cheaper Mac options.
Actually Volkswagen won't let the Beetle be used for any "violent" toy. So that explains the Camaro situation and also why no Transformer Bumblebees will ever be Beetles.
Sigh...the Amiga:) I got rid of my A500 several years ago in a fit of insanity. Luckily I found an A1000 at a Goodwill plus a fair number of games. It seems strange to be using it on my 17" LCD TV.
I think your experience is not typical. I've got 2 C64s (brown and white) and a C128 and all are still working well. Now if you want to talk about reliability issues...ask about the 1541 disk drives.

The thing is...you didn't ask for the lawnmower in the first place.

Use those also, but iTunes is bloody convenient especially for smaller artists that may not be for sale in a local store.
Have you heard of iTunes Plus? No? Then investigate it and then kindly STFU.
"The minute soldiers are marching in the street acting like cops HERE, things will change"
By the time things get to that point, it will already be far, far too late.
and sometimes not even then (Firefox user here)

Any of those 4-5 year old laptops as small and as rugged as the eee or the OLPC? No? Thanks for playing.
I've been boycotting "LOST" ever since it came on the air...hoo-boy what a stinker.
I'm sorry, you think Clinton is far left? If anything she's a moderate righty.
Sorry, not ignorant, I know religion all too well and have seen what it does to people.
Freedom of religion does not prevent my right to mock it.

Focus on that group and I expect they would just recruit a nice All-American type.

When I saw the headline I was wondering why someone would want to convert a Lotus Notes database to MP3.
Did you miss the "toy" part? The Transformer movie of course, would have a toy based on the character.

"9/11 was intended to cause terror."
And by golly it worked. Our government made sure of it.
If only I had mod points. Well said.
The pride of my vintage collection. I just wish there was an easy way to make the color overlays.
