Polish Universities and colleges have very high regard for Unix , Linux and open source in general. I think it's pretty much the same in most of the other countries in that table. It's more than just about Firefox penetration, it's about software license knowledge.
And yes, one of them was quite good with great commenting style, clear understanding of the theory and algorithms we were implementing and the other one... oh boy; she was asking me quite often about simple things like : Hex color codes, what's the difference between something like #acacac and #ACACAC . Is lowercase a lighter color ? So, I think it's more of a generalization than rule to say that one gender is better than the other.
For one , I didn't respond before because I don't wish to start a flame war and degrade the thread to a me VS you scenario... but my comments were true to my experience.
The prices in Apple Canada store were outrageously high to what I needed to match in dollar/performance .
I'm glad that your Mac Mini works out for you and take a look at this as well:
Just curious if the weight of the individuals walking on this surface makes any difference to the energy created. If so , then I foresee targeted placement such as walkways close to fast food joints, bakeries or donut shops.
I love reading great books and some are either way overpriced or the hold on them in the library is 50 plus long. If a book is on the shelf and I can physically pick it up , guess what , I'll read it in store for free. What's his answer to that ?? Turn down the lights in the book store to stop me from reading the damn book.
Write a good book, price it well and people will support you so that you won't have to pander to the copyright zealots.
I've no business attachment with Asus, but I have to say I couldn't be happier about the battery life of my Eee PC. Just today, I was using it for more than 3 hours for surfing the net, mplayer music playback, and occasional web video. I still had 30% juice left according to Ubuntu's battery state widget.
Same here. I would never use Bell and would advise everyone I know against it as well. Their traffic shaping and throttling practices skew theplaying field in their favour and punish consumers of other ISPs who use Bell's lines for the ' last mile ' .
I have just listened to a talk-radio broadcast discussing the demographic changes that are changing Europe. Amongst other reasons that a quick a rapid change is taking place is cross-country immigration, abortion and the baby-boom effect.
The interesting thing that was mentioned is that a European Union commissioned report concerning these matters listed facts such as : 1.2 million abortions taking place annually in all European countries other than the 3 that don't support it yet, the average of kids a mature, child-bearing capable woman has , which is about ~1.4 and countries like Poland that suffer from a really low average of something like 1.17. It also discussed the average needed to continue a healthy demographic in respect to society, tax system sustainability and so on to be about 2.1 . It is not a damn crime to repeat Imam's fringe and biased statements that may influence and affect such staggering un-balance in Europe's current demographic. I am a European currently residing in Canada and I have seen bullshit cases being wrapped with hate crime or discrimination shrouds. Anybody living here will tell you that there has been an influx of these.
He clearly forgot the roots of their success ...

We all know it was developers, developers, developers, developers .
Our second year of CS studies covered these various organizations to a certain degree and the more I learn about their real world conducts, the more they seems like a sham !
As a recent graduate,a strong proponent of open source and above all a decent citizen, how am I supposed to react to news like this and not boycott Microsoft.
The only things that are standard about them are their dirty tactics. Throw me a goddamn chair Mr. Ballmer !
Their customer service and a personable approach is bar none the best I have ever seen. Their services are cheaper, more reliable and faster than Bells. What does Bell do about it ? They f**k up your traffic.
Here's what I know:
I have been on Teksavvy for many years ( an ex-Bell subscriber ) . As of few days ago, their traffic during ~4pm - ~1am has been shaped by Bell. What used to be a ~600 KBp/s now turned into a 30 KBp/s. At the same time 2 of my friends living right beside me can do the exactly same download using their Bell Sympatico at around ~150 KBp/s .
They say that their traffic sometimes gets stuck on 100 and sometimes on 150 , but never at 30 KBp/s.
What else... 2 months ago, I was having line issues and my access was dropped for about 14 days. I called Bell to give them an earful, because it was their problem and finally it was solved. In turn, they have called me 4 times since then, offering me various promotions to switch to them. Stuff like 3 months free, on another occasion they tried to offer free long distance, but the last call takes the cake: A Bell rep calls me and offers me a portable wireless internet http://bell.ca/shop/Sme.Sol.Internet.Unplug.Home.page and says it will be free of charge for 2 months. In addition I can stay with my current land line ISP provider. He tried very hard to find out which ISP i subscribe to ( as all other Bell reps that called me ) . I simply told him that I wouldn't give out that information.
A week passes by, and Bell sends me a land line based kit with a regular DSL modem and phone filter package. As I call them, telling them that I was sent the wrong package, as It was supposed to be a portable wireless business internet one, the lady simply denied THAT BELL OFFERS THIS KIND OF SERVICE . They do, look here : http://bell.ca/shop/Sme.Sol.Internet.Unplug.Home.page .
In any case, I told them to screw off and shipped the kit back, but not before she tried to find out my ISPs name. Once again, I told her to fly a kite.
Lesson learned. Bell will do anything under the sun to muscle out their competition because they are leaving Bell en-masse in hope to get treated with respect and have the service that's stated on the contract.
It's exactly like trying to prove chaos theory , but the sheer act of measuring the computation changes the result, so you're always wrong.
Contrary to earlier theories that Mercury had been "dead on arrival", so it really did win the Dead or Alive contest as I have suspected all along.
I found most of them, and No ! You can't have them back.
I've seen yours as well and it's time to get back to work.
The folks there are going to get Swedened ;)

I was curious about Mac and it's products, but that was short lived until I entered the Apple store and saw the bloated prices.
Good for laughs, good for posing, bad for me ! Linux is still my favorite .

Just how does this banal system stand up against holding a high-res picture of notebook's owner in front of the camera. My guess, not very well.

I hear the 8-cell battery gets up to 4 hours on these latitudes, so how can you get 14 + while doing any real work on it?

Teksavvy all the way.
Their P2P throttling down to 30 KB/s is down right filthy. I wish something would be done on our front as well.
