How do you think all those pictures get online? It's from people like him that keep pictures and eventually put them online. I never looked at the album (for good reason) but I'm sure some were identifiable.

The point is though tha this isn't something new and you can't really stop it. In a way it's to expected. You have to question the mental state of someone who volunteers to scrape people off the road and if he takes his own camera it becomes harder to prove who did it as the department doesn't have their own copy to compare it to.

But if you do want to stop it you have have to do something to discourage people from doing it. Banning it from the net won't do it otherwise child porn wouldn't exist on the internet.

Runescape is one of the biggest if not the biggest MMO games around and it's Java based. The publisher, Jagex, also builds numerous other web games in Java.

There's no denying Flash is big but applets haven't disappeared and if it wasn't for their horrible beginning, I think they'd be much bigger now.

So yeah, Java on the web didn't have a good start but it's not bad. In fact Quake 2 has been ported to Java with very good benchmarks. http://www.bytonic.de/html/benchmarks.html Anyone dissing Java now is just being a code snob or doesn't have the mental capacity to do something good with it.

Applets are no worse than anything else. The only difference is the price tag on Flash stops more people (at least those with a conscience) from making any old piece of shit and tossing it up on the web. Professionally done applets are excellent and the best solution to web apps so far.

http://www.wordle.net/ is rather popular despite using an applet but that's because it's done right. It loads nearly instantly and it's not some awful collection of graphical effects tutorials thrown together.

JavaFx is used for more than Applets. It's used in mobile phones too. My main reason for ignoring it is it's basically Java but trying to be all trendy and written different.

I'll stick with normal Java until I have a reason to try JFX. It doesn't help that it's a Windows/mobile only thing.

Nintendo makes money on the hardware so they probably don't care as such. I think it should be that way though and the companies that pump out crap need to die off.

That is a load of rubbish. If that were any where near remotely true then there would be more stories about it as 360 fanboys would have a total wet dream if they could find something to justify the shoddy hardware Microsoft still produces.

The 360 launched nearly 4 years ago and they still have problems including the E74 error and the problems are so common that they had to extend the warranty to keep people happy and put off the risk of a class action suit.

Continuing to have problems 4 years later is not putting any effort into fixing the fundamental problems with the system. The fact is they wanted to be first to market and to do so they had to let the quality drop. The 360 probably won't ever be problem free.

Acting like she was some kind of mental handicap is a bit silly. There is no guarantee that had anything to do with this and it'd be my opinion that it would more likely be plain old peer pressure that caused her to try cocaine.

While this may have started off for those reasons. Their fight only makes things worse because people go through this same sort of thing all the time and they don't have rich parents wanting to make a scene and change their law for their child.

It's no surprise they're all in therapy if they're basically putting themselves in the poor house over this.

I personally rather run the risk of seeing pictures of dead family members online rather do something that could lead to the hindrance of free speech because as it's been said this isn't a problem with free speech. It's a problem with some clowns not taking their job seriously and it's rather common as I knew a volunteer fireman who kept a photo album of accident pictures and he had shown them to people like it was his pride and joy.

People have always been like this and always will and you can't stop it by passing a law. You only end up ruining life for those with decency.

It wasn't just for 3rd place. It was to get Blu-Ray into as many homes as possible and win the format war which they did and, as far as 3rd place positions go, they're not doing that bad compared to MS who even had a year lead.

Had they launched at the same time I would put money on Sony beating the 360 even if each system had the same games libraries.

A lot of this is due to the fact no one outside of the US really likes the 360. Sony is beating them in Japan and MS has only about a million units lead over Sony. So it wouldn't take much to make MS lose their position.

It will be interesting if they'll rush out and try to be on first on the market knowing they don't have what it takes to beat Nintendo, they can't really afford another red-ring scenario and Sony knows they have to play smarter the next time around.
