  1. The new or old Corning glass? on 60-Year-Old Glass Technology Finds Its Market · · Score: 2, Interesting

They stopped making the original Corning glass/ceramics because people wouldn't buy new often enough. Buy it once and keep it forever. So they released a new and more fragile product. Will this be the same story?

Because it was a red letter date in history. Nov 5 1955. Right after the birth of christ and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It's one of my personal favorite movies!

I haven't logged in for a long time, but I had to log in and say thanks for mentioning Good Old Games. I'd never heard of it and it sounds awesome. I had stopped playing games for years, Red Alert 2 was my last game I played the crap out of. I might install WINE and see how they work!

Sorry to disappoint you, but that is not *real* roast beef. I worked at an Arby's while in college. If you notice, there is never any marbling in the beef. It is a processed meat product.

From the Arby's website, under "printable ingredients list"
Roast Beef: Trimmed Boneless Beef Chunks (Minimum 70%) Combined With Chopped Beef For a Maximum of 12% Fat. Contains up to 9.0% of a Self-Basting Solution of Water, Salt, Sodium Phosphate.

It looks a lot like spam when we used to cut it out of the plastic wrap.

I don't know why this was modded as Troll. What the parent said is true. The iPhone is not a success overseas.

I have a several friends who own the phones, they all say that they are "okay". The G1 though is all I hear about nowadays.

I personally hate playing games online. I stopped playing online with Red Alert 2. Most people online have horrible manners, play cheesey, and are sore winners/losers. Nowadays, the whole reason I play video games is to avoid interacting with people. I deal with idiots and jerks during work, I don't want to deal with them during play. If I want to socialize with people, I'll do it in real life. Just my opinion.

  9. Re:Would you buy a Metallica online album...? on Metallica May Follow In Footsteps of Radiohead, NIN · · Score: 1

Metallica jumped the shark around the era of the self-titled black album. There's little to no reason to listen to them now (Nostalgia, I guess.)

Of course, this is just personal preference. It's certainly OK for a band to grow and change. But let's face it, the majority of 'core Metallica fans dropped out at "Nothing Else Matters" and haven't looked back.

I had reply to this. You are truly a fan. The Black Album was pretty much what ruined them for me. Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets were my favorites. And Justice... I thought was good. Gritty and raw. Bob Rock? WTF man... I often wonder what Cliff would think of them now. Also, as much as I didn't really care for Jason, I think he said it best when he called Metallica "lame and weak". Anyways, the softer side of James and gang killed it for me.
