C++ is the only major language with extensive abstraction but without memory safety.
That would be because C and C++ are the only major systems programming languages. I honestly don't much like C++, but complaining it behaves like a systems language is missing the point of it.
C++ is losing market share to Java...And Strostrup denies this is a problem. So do I. There *should* be a lot more programs written in Java, because most tasks don't require a systems language.
The customer won't see the price difference explicitly, but that doesn't mean it's not there.
Yes, I'm quite aware that a 2ghz P4 should be faster than a 866mhz P3, but that doesn't change the fact that this PC is noticably slower. Maybe it's because this PC is a Dell and the P3 it replaced was a no-name beige box. Both are (or were) WinXP Pro with 512MB RAM. I suppose it's possible that this one has a 5400RPM hard drive; it does have on-board video, but I think the old one did, too.
I think the point was that the library provision was only in there in the first place to distract people from the provisions that are being used more often.
Yes, it would. However, companies (Thinking Machines?) already have made cubes of processors, where each only talks to its immediate neighbors. You could break down the space you're modeling into 32786 smaller cubes (32*32*32), and assign one processor to each. As modeled objects move through the modeled region, their data would be passed from one processor to the next.
Richard Harris had the Albus Dumbledore part down perfectly -- just as himself, in an interview I saw shortly before the Sorceror's Stone movie came out. Just think what sort of directing "talent" it took from Christopher Columbus to screw that up.
That's really dumb, too; it wouldn't really take them any work to support raster export into the PDF. You can just put the bytes of a JPEG into a PDF, mark it as JPG, and let Acrobat Reader handle the rest.
One of the places that was suggested for nuclear waste storage before Yucca Mountain was settled upon was the old Detroit salt mines. I live about three miles from Downtown Detroit, and I would be happy to have glassified nuclear waste in the salt mines if it eliminated the problems of fossil fuel power.
Shouldn't there be something surprising in the "apple surprise"? Bacon could work.
Lets face it, for consummers digital is way more convenient, not better, convenient.
It depends what your goal is. My goal is to have good quality pictures on my computer, and digital is better for that than film followed by scanning.
It depends what the music is. Something that depends on subtle details, like Dire Straits, is going to be seriously hurt by bad equipment.
Nice troll, but those keyboards are available with and without the windows key.
The lack of a Windows key is why an old one might not be good enough. If you're going to throw accusations, read carefully.
The reason I got a digital camera in the first place is that I have no interest in having pictures on paper.
Otherwise, I reserve the right to date, have sex with... any of my co-workers when we are off the clock.
Maybe your coworkers ought to have some input in that, too...
I think they're actually both right. When you write English well, the result is good English.

White and never acidentally offended a Jamaican coworker with "African American".
And the installation got a lot easier.
They get Jedi, we get Sith...
Isn't that better? After all, to be a wise and effective leader, one must embrace a larger view of the force.
That, and the fact that it's not just for him. All those people you see interviewed on the DVD extras work for Peter Jackson, not New line.
You probably don't want to say that publically. It could come back to hurt him.

How the hell is this a troll?
I'll notice that the AMDs are cheaper. And I noticed that the 2ghz P4 I've got at work is slower than the 866mhz P3 it replaced.
Don't forget when you're the only employee there and have to use the bathroom.

The part that was hard for her was the slaughter of the Jedi. She cried
Hell, so did I. My seven year old was fine.

Lots of Swing Java apps (as opposed to Cocoa Java ones) are horrible on the Mac because they fail to make it act reasonably like a Mac app
That's true of Swing apps on Windows, too.

a perfectly valid argument against such a plant is: I don't want nuclear waste buried in my backyard for my grandchildren to take care of.
I'm sorry, but NIMBY is not a valid argument.
