We all know that the reason for Apple's success is marketing. Intel has failed so far in this department, but they have a brilliant campaign going in Japan that they should expand worldwide. Their commercial articulates the value of the Ultrabook and how it will contribute to people's computing experience. Check it out here:
1. All religion is bats**t crazy. Mormonism is just bats**t crazy with nuts on top.
2. Linus is probably one of the most important figures in the technology industry during the last 20 years or so. Because of that he is a public figure, so like Romney his offhand statements are bound to be criticized, analyzed, etc. He's much less of a public figure than most politicians so he probably isn't used to this as much, but I guess he'll have to. However, he's not a politician, he's a technical leader, so I think people *should* lay off analyzing such comments.
3. Linus is known for speaking his mind and being somewhat harsh. I don't think Linux would have happened otherwise. However, compared to RMS, Linus is a real gentleman.
That's the Google Earth app, not Google Maps. It doesn't provide directions or street view. From what I've seen it also doesn't do maps, instead it always uses satellite images.
Last year EA bought PopCap, the producer of a number of simple, but well done single player games, including Plants vs. Zombies. Although they've added multi-player elements to their games, the core experience is a single-player one. Recently they laid off about 50 people, including the designer of Plants vs. Zombies.
It seems to me that EA doesn't care much about game play, just raking in more profits.
Note that part of the problem in the discussion here is that the word "artificial" has several meanings. The grandparent is referring to one meaning which is something like "contrived or false", while the parent is referring to a related meaning which is "made or produced by human beings rather than occurring naturally, typically as a copy of something natural". I think both of these meanings of artificial are in play when we talk about AI, although the meaning used by the parent is probably the more fitting for the context.
The original iPod nicely matched capacity with portability, along with relatively fast sync. No other players had that at the time, they were either too big to fit in a pocket or low capacity.
However, I've noticed in the past that I tend to drop things when I'm unenthusiastic, distracted, depressed or whatever. You need to put energy into focusing on what you're currently doing.
There is no one simple definition of species and being able or unable to interbreed would require a lot of time to confirm and is impractical with most non-domesticated animals.
I'm no biologist, but with regard to insects they probably mostly judge based on appearance. The cases where appearance is not enough to determine are probably fairly rare.
On iOS they went from having a native app to having a app that uses HTML5. If they did the same thing on Android this could explain the poor performance.
The original Facebook app for iOS was fast, but Facebook updated the app to be HTML5-based and it has slowed down significantly. There are rumors that Facebook is working on re-introducing more native components to their app, but this is just a rumor.
yeah, yeah, yeah...
AC, you would have been enlightened you if checked out the link, but it is obvious you didn't.

Just in time for the next SpiderMan movie.

Yes Steve would allow for letterboxing. That's what he did for compatibility for iPad.

But if all the other cars are automatic, no one will be going over the speed limit.
I think piracy could increase, since without a human crew the pirates might be facing less resistance.

My post is still marked as flamebait. Someone must be abusing the moderator system.

One less to worry about...
If this is a serious problem, consult a doctor.

This is a Series 40 phone.
It looks like it is the Series 40 OS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_40
The was no announcement of 2.0, this is only speculation. However, as others have observed, in the tech industry they're always working on 2.0.

From your description I thought you're talking about an Ayn Rand novel.
Infoseek is now go.com, which is "powered by Yahoo", which in turn is "powered by Bing".

A fact is true, a "fabricated fact" is an oxymoron.
Mike Daisey only took the "it's theater" route after he was exposed.
The same Mike Daisey that advocates punching Facebook pre-IPO shareholders:
