Konquoror doesn't use webkit (yet), so it'd be silly to lengthen every summary to insert "and by the way, webkit owes a lot to konqueror's KHTML." Not compulsively mentioning something where it's irrelevant to the subject isn't the same as ignoring something.
The percentage of konqueror users who fake the user agent is bound to be lower than 50%, so it's an insignificant difference. I certainly keep konq with its own user agent.
Not only is it not against their TOS, they provide API tools and instructions to help you perform automated queries. What you don't have the right to do is drive huge amounts of traffic through them, such as by setting up your own google-clone website that you advertise to the world.
And for me, I've never had a hard drive fail in my life (16 years of hard drives, sometimes several at once, and with a CPU dying in that time). Personal experience doesn't mean anything.
I can sue you for anything if I like. It'll get thrown out of court, but it'll still cost you money. An agreement to prevent the suing isn't an admission of guilt, particularly when the agreement runs both ways, protecting Microsoft from possible Novell lawsuits (and some speculate Novell's patents could attack MS Office).
Why would I want a similar theme and feel on a handheld as a desktop? That's like asking for a bed designed like a chair. They're supposed to do different things, they're supposed to feel different, if they felt the same that would be annoying.
I ran Windows '95 on a computer for 8 years without any problem at all, by far the best experience with a Microsoft OS I've had. This was almost certainly because the computer wasn't connected to the internet, but it demonstrates that Win '95 itself wasn't necessarily a problem.
Explorer being able to view web pages was possible in Windows '95 I believe, for sure in '98. If it can run a pentium 75mhz with 8 megs ram with no problems, it's not eating your resources.
Maybe there's a reason they're angry. Who wouldn't be when much of the population consists of vitriolic nativists who call you a "cultural enemy" and consider you dangerous simply because of where you're from, even though few if any people from your country of origin have done anything violent?
The poor don't offer much ROI. Donating to a software project can be in your own enlightened self-interest. Don't tell me you've never spent any money on your own interests in your life.
My Nokia 770 has a touch screen keyboard with an 800x480 screen which I use as an ebook reader (amongst other things), and cost me $82, though admitedly it cost a lot more when first released.
Do you have a source, or are you just making things up? If more people own three bedroom homes with cable TV and a DVD player and a car than own a dishwasher, people have some very strange priorities.
You may as well be complaining about the cost of diamonds and moaning that since a hard working Amercian can only afford a few three foot diamonds these days the economy is clearly collapsing.
most people would be happy to trade cars, just they don't have the cash to
Heh, right. Lots of $1000 cars will get 35MPG, your ego just refuses to be seen in them -- you want the trendy status symbol Prius. The same way you refuse to live within 100 miles of where you work, and then complain about gas prices, as though they're the problem.
I'd love to see $8/gallon gas. I spend about $20/month on gas, even on my small income doubling that is a non-issue.
Cars themselves are luxury items, of course, and you're perfectly capable of living in a city and using public transit like most of the world.
Any host can afford to support multiple versions, which is why such a large percentage do support both PHP 4 and PHP 5 and let the user switch between them with an.htaccess line. It's not difficult. The trouble comes when the last PHP4 security updates cease.
Pointless anecdote, but the only EeePC user I know struggled with the pre-installed linux and eventually had it wiped in favor of Windows. The default linux installed is lobotomized to not let you do anything outside of set tasks, and it takes expertise to hack it into something useful. Another example of a company thinking linux needs to be dumbed down to become friendly, and really making it unfriendly to anyone with more than very basic needs in the process.

The nearest copy shop tells you the location. If the sender lives in New York and the fax is sent from a number in Nigeria, it may arouse suspicion.
It's dual-platform. Dual platform is hardly equivilant to running on everything but your amiga.
Does that count as cross platform support too? Personally, I think it does.
Only because you haven't tried it.
Try actually using Moonlight, then tell me it's cross-platform. Microsoft has been "assisting" for more than a year and it's pre-alpha quality.

It's no different from Konqueror.

God needs the spectrum to communicate his word.

The N770 can be found on ebay for under $100 (got mine for $82). A 4.1" screen is a handheld though, doesn't a subnotebook refer to more like 7"-10"?
Because people thousands of miles away are really likely to come help if you take away their TV?

About 1% of the population is illiterate, if you go by official stats, instead of by people who write horribly.
What about the ruins on the moon or Mars?
What about the pink elephants in low earth orbit?

The example is wrong. magic_quotes simply escapes quotes with backslashes, it doesn't add quotes around terms.
