Why cant phone manufacturers provide a product with features people actually want? a charger that doesnt change every year, removable storage, replaceable battery, support for multiple sims?
They do already. My phone (Cubot GT72E) has all that, and it was only $60 new.
"Potentially years" before the vaporware product of undisclosed cost that probably won't draw any interest if it is ever released. This is just oracle trying to sound like they haven't given up.
So as long as we worship the stock market and quarterly revenues so we can calculate executive bonuses... the cost of no consumer good will ever go down, because the people selling it will actively just find new ways to justify raising the price.
New PCs used to cost thousands and now cost a few hundred.
Google wasn't trying to kill Firefox with pepper, they made everything Firefox needs to implement pepper available as open source and encouraged Firefox to add support. It's Firefox's choice not to implement it because they consider it "non-standard".
Most terrorists and criminals don't have half a brain, so yes I fully believe they'd be able to spy on more of them. Doesn't mean they should be allowed to.
There are a lot of trips where the time doesn't matter to me and walking a bit at the destination is good, where I'd love to use public transit if it weren't more expensive than gas. I'd still use my car for shopping or for when I'm pressed for time, though.
According to Lucas himself, the neimoidians were speaking with a transylvanian accent. Jar Jar was speaking in an accent Ahmed Best could do. Lucas felt it would make aliens seem more alien if they had accents, and actors only know how to do human language accents so he picked some of those. In retrospect it was a stupid decision, but it wasn't intended racistly.
$750 laptops can't be aimed at lower-income people, especially in India. I've never paid as much as $750 for a computer in my life, my laptop was around $300 and my desktop around $250.
If you think 100% of a planet's orbit needs to be cleared, roundness doesn't work any better. Earth has mountains, so it's not completely round, so it's not a planet!
If Lucas had been interested in realism, the entire series would've been boring. You want the asteroid chase in a realistic asteroid field where you never see an asteroid the whole time? Several years passing while they try to make it from Hoth to Bespin on sublight engines? Star Wars isn't speculative fiction, it's space opera.
The reason people like getting an email with their password when they register is that they can search and find that email again later. Why would they want to see their password one time right after registering? Why not just not show it and not email it if you're not going to provide the convenience of a saved record?
You can see them in a city too, you just need more patience.
Not everyone lives in your town or has your connection. I have 6Mbit comcast, my parents have 1Mbit and a lot of people still have dialup.

Farmers are easily convinced to do anything with tax incentives. They already get paid to take their land out of production when necessary.
The temperature of the USA is largely irrelevant, as there's no significant long term land ice in the USA, nor permafrost except in Alaska.

Indeed. In the future, intersections may only have a gas station on 2 corners instead of 3.
Renting a u-haul three times isn't going to cost you much compared to $25,000 cars.

It can work if you're rich and don't mind raising world sea levels a few feet to wirelessly charge your electric car.
A star passed within 0.8 light years of Earth during the lifetime of homo sapiens, a mere 70,000 years ago. Our ancestors missed the boat.
Believe it or not, there are a lot of Germans of English descent.
Perhaps to study different geological formations.

For videos, it's simple. For ads doing different HTML 5 animations, not so simple.

Oracle's own linux distro is the reference platform. Solaris is dead and Oracle knows it.

There was already an Ewoks movie, so there's strong precedent and your idea will probably happen at some point.
