Too soon? I live in Minneapolis, and I was making comments about wasteful politicians and fucked up priorities with hours of the bridge falling. Not long ago Minnesotans politicians foisted a stadium on us which will cost the public hundreds of millions of dollars, all so a bunch of rich men can play a game and get richer. I'm quickly getting fed up with this country.
I think voting libertarian is a good first step, or any third party for that matter. The more important second step is to vote out the incumbent every time. Look where we are today. We're going on 30 years with Clintons and Bushes holding top offices. Last I checked that was called a monarchy.
Unfortunately, long time politicians gain more power and bring home more money from the federal piggy bank. The same crooks get voted in time and time again because they can build a huge tunnel or a bridge to nowhere. We're being destroyed by our own greed.
Including the RIAA who can then sue ISPs for millions of dollars because they're infringing copyright by storing those files on their servers for download by the ISPs customers.
I guess my joke completely failed, lol. I'm a layman, and thought those kind of tolerances were defined in receding decimals. 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, etc. Didn't realize it went the other way, sort of a significant places notation.
Or perhaps you saw how accurately it described you and are trying desperately to turn things back around on me? Don't blame me if you take your insignificant job more seriously than you should.
I think a lot of people like to over-inflate the importance of their work. Pissant office workers from low level managers to data entry workers to mail room clerks enjoy furrowing their brow a lot and pretending that the economies of several western nations may come crashing down if they don't do their job. These are people whose sense of self worth comes from their job, they fail to realize that for people in their position, working is simply a means to an end.
These are the people that stress about email and check it every 30 seconds. It's not because they feel they have to, it's because (possibly subconsciously) they want to. The more stressful their job is (in their mind) the more important their job is and the more important they are. Personally, I do my job and I do it well, but I don't get stressed about anything. It's not worth it.
I didn't realize you needed every home on cheap, fast broadband for them to work a tech job. Hell, I have to go into the office every day and I live smack dab in the middle of a major metro area. No telecommuting for me.
So again, what exactly will broadband in every home do that will miraculously change the economy of every small town in the US?
You seem to have completely missed the point. How exactly does lack of cheap broadband keep farmers from growing food you ignorant fool? Is broadband going to help farmers run their tractors?
This was my thought as well. I want a 100Mb line for $10/mo as much as anybody. But how exactly will cheap, fast residential internet increase our business standing in the world?
Who in their right mind would upgrade to a new version of Bittorrent/uTorrent that is incompatible with all the other clients out there who are seeding the data they want? Extending is one thing, but breaking client compatibility would kill that particular client.
Hereditary doesn't mean uncontrollable. If you have a family history of high blood pressure, take the steps necessary to keep yourself healthy. Don't live an unhealthy lifestyle and expect the rest of us to pick up the tab.
Republican? Sorry spanky, I never voted for Bush. I voted for Browne in 2000 and didn't even bother to vote in 2004, I've pretty much given up on the concept of American democracy.
So if the problem is that the chip would come about at the end of a Republican adiministration, then why doesn't your beloved Democrat just wait until Bush is gone, then introduce this bill? Maybe Democrats are just plain stupid? That would certainly explain what's wrong with you.
Elton John has the gall to say there's a breakdown between artist and audience when he's charging $150 per ticket to see him? Fuck the arrogant bastard.
in the second you're fighting a bunch of people who know they're not going to lose anything if they die, so they just do the lemming over and over until one side wins
Not that I think MMORPGs have anything to do with terrorism, but you just inadvertently described suicide bombers.
Interesting choice of words too. They're not interested in compensation. They want retribution. I have a feeling if they could extract the payment in blood they'd take that route.
The system needs more criminals. Ideally, every average citizen would be considered a criminal. That makes them much easier to control. You can tag them, harass them, tell them where they can live, where they can work, who they can socialize with, you can dictate their life to them. Look at "sex offenders" and you'll see where politicians and corporations would love to see everyone.
It costs twice as much, weighs three times as much, and uses quite a bit more power due to a larger screen, a hard drive, an optical drive, a faster CPU, etc. I'm not sure how you see them in the same category of products.
I don't disagree with you. But keep in mind that corporations only exist because of government creating them. Above all, the overriding problem seems to be government stepping in and creating something where there was nothing. Entities with all the rights of people and none of the responsibilities. Contractual monopolies. Monopolies due to patents and copyright.
Had the federal government remained in it's constitutionally mandated box, we'd have none of those. All of current issues with corporate interests overriding public interest is due to the meddling of the mess we call the US federal government.
Who modded this nitwit informative? Libertarians most certainly do not believe in a government which can't stop people from blowing up their competitors factories. Those are anarchists, not libertarians. Libertarians fully believe in government that exists to prevent coercion, of which the blowing up factories would fall.
You obviously fail to grasp the ideas behind libertarianism, so you're hardly qualified to criticize them.

Off topic: Just want to say it's always a pleasure to read your posts Kadin.

1.00000000 mm is far too strict, I'm sure a 1.000 mm tolerance would suffice.

You've convinced me to vote in the next election. I'm going to vote Republican just to spite assholes like you.

In the smoking hole left behind by the bullet which punctured the media execs skull?
You missed a step. We'll call it step zero.
0. Ignore the fact that this idea is coming from a Democrat.

When he puts it in those terms, it sounds a lot like a scam.
