    You misrepresent Dawkins. He's a scientist, so would explain - in detail - why radiation is bad for you, and why you shouldn't walk into the light. The "true believers" would still walk into the light, because faith isn't about rational thought - it's about thumbing your nose at smart asses. (Thus proving Dawkin's point that religion is dangerous.)

    Oracle DBAs demand a high price because they have to put up with this shit on a daily basis. Frankly, you couldn't pay me enough to deal with Oracle licensing - I'm all for migrating to PostgreSQL on Linux if it will scale and is stable enough.

    I attended the InSync10 conference earlier this year. One of the presentations described - in colourful language - all of the ways that Oracle will "f**k you over" - if you let them. The only way to deal with Oracle is to fight back; migrating away from their products is one way to negotiate with the PFYs in sales (who apart from being under unrealistic quotas, probably view Larry as a god.)

    Yep - most likely fuel for a Gallium-68 generator, which is used as a positron source for calibrating PET scanners (article says "CT scanner" but meh, details - it's lost nucular stuff!)

    Yes, but what about silence quality? The onboard sound options I've tried over the last few years have all suffered from appalling noise levels. Installing even a basic but quiet sound card can make a big improvement in overall sound quality.
