I agree with you: Javascript is not technically the best solution to write such an application (for now, let's see when JS2 comes out and will be implemented by all major browsers).
But they are not talking about fingerprints here... here is an excerpt from the article.. an agreement allowing law enforcement and security agencies to obtain private information
yeah, when we got hold of a PhysX accelerator, our engine actually slowed down quite a lot - It ran roughly half the speed of the software implementation. The big problem was that whilst the card was great at processing a few thousand colliding boxes, it's performance truly sucked if you wanted to do anything with those results. So yeah, I'd be inclined to agree that the value of the hardware is questionable.
There is a bigger problem though - why would you even want a few thousand boxes colliding? (Youtu
The conference is in L.A. They'd be glad to help you live forever using a disfiguring cocktail of fad diets, plastic surgery, Botox(tm), hair transplants, bathing in feces(works wonders for your pores!); and to top it off, they'll hold up your chihuahua in a 4-star hotel. Oh, and the whole anti-aging idea is so god-complex outlandish that it couldn't possibly be hosted in any other place 'cept L.A.
Or get a battery backup. With the low power draw, it should last quite a while, and you should really have phones in the event of a general power outage anyway
I don't know, as a 'someone else' I find diagrams pretty useless for understanding a system. A good API document, spec, or header file directory does wonders.
If you've got a reasonably small code base you might want to keep the documentation style you've got. I'm not sure what a "very cryptic block diagram" looks like, but a simple drawing showing the functional blocks of your software may be good enough. For smaller embedded projects I've done in C or assembly (2-4 people on the team, 10K lines of code, minimal use of 3rd party code other than maybe the C std lib) this is the design/documentation style I've used: 1) Create an architectural design. I normally agree with you, McGrew, but on this one, I have to take a different stance.
It all depends on your assumptions. For example, if one assumes that suffering is the greatest harm, then yes, abortion and euthanasia are perfectly valid and in fact moral procedures. However, if you assume that death is the greatest harm, then abortion and euthanasia are morally reprehensible. To the GP, death is clearly the greatest harm. In fact, the law would tend to agree: murder is often given the highest level o
i have a greenhouse that needs new power run to it. An aerial line would just be flat ugly, an trenching requires removing a ton of concrete and several possible code violations. Solar for me is a near perfect fix, and the extra costs of the panels are a wash with the labor that could be involved. Then there is a plus that I can run other things from the greenhouse, and depending on efficiency, I may move some battery chargers to that system for more "free" energy. There are some applications where solar is
Did they borrow farmer Joe's truck?
It's a bit disappointing to see such a high tech thing moved by the same truck that moved crates of oranges only days before.
Psst, listen....Vatta's War barely works in book form and would largely fail to translate to film. It's a nice universe, but you'd need a different story for a movie.
I wouldn't put the onus of this bias on/., though. I've noticed that the media in general has been publishing more Obama stories than McCain stories. I think there is a good (if not healthy) reason for this, too. Obama is more newsworthy. Like him, hate him, or indiferent to him, you must admit he something different. And not just racially, but his campain is not quite following the historic pattern, his followers are different. John McCain is just another stodgy white-guy, going for oil executives and
While 5 years is pushing it, just what kind of laptop the old laptop is will make a difference in how it compares to modern sub-par $400 garbage laptops. I call them that from experience, because I've bought two in the last two years. And while next year's cheapest laptops will still be garbage, they're sure to be better than the single-core POS with 512MB RAM that I got last year. On the other hand, I just went shopping again and picked up a Gateway FX laptop for $1400 - I do not expect to see a cheapo $400
So e.g. we're desperately waiting for .NET 2.0 to work properly in Wine.
PDA's? Palm or Windows devices should be available for really cheap.Layne
Putting a space on each side of the hyphen helps. Without spaces, it's a hyphenated word...

What about customer satisfaction, and the financial detriment of losing your customers?

at the DNS entry? Could you just enter the hex of the IP instead of the DNS name?

You'd solve more problems by taking all MBAs and offer them a smoke. In front of a wall. Facing a firing squad. Mart

Thanks for the link. That honestly looks like a neat little toy and for under a hundred dollars it's something that I could legitimately try out :).
