I would create a merit based scholarship for a local high school senior or a local university for a student or student entering a STEM or even a CS program.
Why merit based? The geek culture is one of self-starters and self-motivation. You want to target someone who has worked hard and whose grades are important to them. So many scholarships are need-based, and having personally had my first child enter college and searching for scholarships, I can personally attest that the quantity of need-based far exceed merit based.
The other benefit is your organization gets the publicity of having a scholarship named after them.
Talk about te Law of Unintended Consequences. As I looked at the immense queue of people waiting to get through security I thought, "what a great place for a suicide bomber to detonate himself". You don't have to bring down an airlplane to create terror of flying.
Fucking TSA morons.
I didn't know that. Thanks. I looked up lagomorphs on wikipedia and found that one of the differentiating characteristics bewteen lagomorphs and rodents is that lagomorphs have their scrotum in front of their penis.
I guess that helps with hopping:)
I think you're absolutely wrong. I've increased my use of the word "niggardly"because I refuse to succumb to the ignorant and ill-informed masses who lack an adequate vocabulary and may be offended, There are also those who would like us to watch our thoughts and actions so we can be "politically correct". Don't be niggardly when expressing your freedom of speech.
I read TFA (I didn't understand it, but at least I read it). The entire discussion was a typical linear blog where they had keep numbering items and referring back to them (i.e. "regarding item #32 I think....")
What he really needed is a threaded message board ala Slashdot.
You first have to work out the flow of the program (or web site). Which options are on which screens? What's on the list that takes a user to a detail page? Is the delete button on the list or on the detail page?
For the above, I found the best way is paper, pencil, pushpins, and yarn. Find a big wall in a conference room, and start sketching it out. Quickly draw the data elements and input fields on the paper. Use one piece of paper for each web page. Use pushpins and yarn to show how the user navigates. This approach is 1) inexpensive (doesn't take a coder), 2) easliy understood by everyone and 3) easily changed.
After the function is nailed down, then the designer can take this and select fonts, colors, etc. and mock up a few pages to give back to you, the programmer, the style to apply to each page. That is, of course, if you have a graphic designer at your disposal.
I had a similar situation. In my case, I was more concerned they'd see the schema.
I created views of denormalized data that they'd be interested in accessing, then granted rights to only these views. They were never the wiser.
I wonder how much CO2 a burning hybrid produces?

Check out the Davidson Institute. Their goal is to assist profoundly gifted kids. They've been a wonderful resource for my son.
Re:That was a quick about face..."
I see what you did there
I received fradulent charges the day after this occured. My bank called me and I had to cancel my card.
They model this thing in a glass house as though that's where you'd take a dump - right next to the window.
People in glass houses shouldn't show thrones.
Could it tell me how long it took me to twist up this fattie?
So guess which tool of mine is no longer of use :(
I agree with you. In addition, I would have liked to see the following low-cost solutions tried:
1. Allow insurers to compete across state lines
2. Tort reform.

Are you suggesting I relocate my data center to a pair of Air Jordan shoes? I think that'd be getting off on the wrong foot.
He's a fucking Quake god.

C'mon mods that was funny.

He was stabbed by a gang of 11 to 14-year-olds. The boy's mother had complained repeatedly to the principal about bullies, yet he did nothing.
Bullying is the real problem here which should be addressed.
Where are my mod points? +1 funny!
Wii butt plug?
Did anyone else see the humping dog usb ad on the home page? I wish I could've modded the product +5 funny.
Form follows function.

I was with you until #5. How about "number of houses lost due to stupid buyers"?
I've purchased many houses and always knew enough to avoid adjustable-rate mortgages.
People need to take responsibility for their actions. They made a bad buying decision - don't blame it on the "preditory lender".
Well that should help stem the red tide of rising fuel costs.
