By the time Tool puts out another album, we won't be wearing tshirts anymore, and his winery will be oceanfront property.

At least the current administration is (hopefully) going to lean towards scientific progress instead of away. Chemistry kits and model rockets shouldn't be looked at as threats to security.

  4. Tab Hero on Guitar Hero, On a Real Guitar, To Hit Shelves In 2009 · · Score: 1

I've been joking around for a while with friends that GH/RB is a decent warmup exercise before a real practice, and that someone would be making a "tab hero" game that you can play a real guitar to very soon. Now after reading all these comments, I think I'm going to buy a better sound card and try some of these MIDI progs. Mad props to slashdotters for spreading good info. And yes I must be new here XD

This is an interesting trick, but it not a useful tech at this time. Although I will say this is the first time EVER where I thought a H2 energy culture was even remotely possible. This is still very wasteful, though. (See comments on Al refining...) As for ethanol, I still don't understand why we don't use hemp instead of corn.

What if I (anonymously) slandered myself on your site, and then sued you for damages due to lost wages, prospects, etc... Not only would I be a huge burden and/or distraction to your site, but I could blame any TRUE slanderous material on "the people out to get me". Assume I use TOR, etc... at all times. Where is the incentive NOT to do this?

I want a second one to hack/homebrew. I believe the wiimote with nunchuck is hands down the best controller on the market (though overly expensive at retail). I love hearing people complain about the Wii when Nintendo is watching every other competitor in their rearview.

Wait, what? I live in the fricken midwest, and CD's from "label" stores cost $20. I have to get the Walmart version or buy it secondhand to get it for under $15. Not that I've actually bought a $15 CD in the past few years, and the last couple were utterly disappointing

Iran already has styro nukes. We can't let this tech get into the hands of the terrorists. We'll have to confiscate all models under the guise of national security. Now all you guys have to do is slashdot the site.

The closer you get to the Mexican border, the cheaper it is. I've also heard, in addition to the "associate it with criminality" and "associate it with illegal immigration" reasons that were used in the early 1900's, that the textile industry didn't want to compete with hemp fiber because it grows like a weed, lol. So we can make ethanol, food, clothing, and many other things out of hemp fibers. Why isn't this a national security issue, and why are all of you only debating about getting high? This could be taken way past the "hippies" argument :)
